EmpoleMew
Because I just checked the latest YGOPro update and it apparenty supports this now. And it's also a big thing at my school. So YCM, what are your thoughts and experiences with tag duels? How do you adapt your strategies for having to deal with a teammate? For those unfamiliar, tag duels, as one might expect, are 2v2 duels. According to the rules used in the video games, both players on a team share 8000 life points, the 5 card zones, graveyard, and banished pile. On a given turn, any cards your team controls are free to use as your own, but you can't play cards from your teammate's hand. And other such things. So have at it, I guess. Blake
Konami has hosted an "official" tag Tourney before, which sounds like fun. DMG also supports this and it's incredibly fun, but it's anime-style not Konami-style on there.
Not-so-Radiant Arin
DN should update to have Tag Duels. Come on, you slackers, you're falling behind!
Kazooie
I reeeaaallly wish DN supported tag duels. I'm so bored of regular duels all the time, and I hate going on DMG at all honestly. x-x
Toffee.
Considering I've played in Tag Duels since like 2008, the game goes two ways: 1- Herp Derp Trupe-Dupe-Scroop because your team is co-ordinated and the Opponents aren't. 2- Random as hell because everyone's deck is different, and leads to crazy plays. Option 2 is more likely to occur, and is what makes the whole concept interesting. Of course, this is all from my past experiences, but ehh... Resident Fascist
Well, it'd be pretty fun if we got some cards with something similar to Join Forces, namely Mana-Charge Dragon, but we need more Mulitplayer themed cards in general. So, yea. They're not too fun in Tag Force games because your tag partner is always a dumbf***.
Toffee.
You know, the problem with Tag Duels, is the anime has always had cards that are specifically meant for such a match, yet, were never released, which is why Tag Duels are so under-supposted in the actual game itself. Now if they actually made cards that were Tag Duel specific, that would actually be interesting.
They're not too fun in Tag Force games because your tag partner is always a dumbf***.
That was done on purpose, you know... Î’yakuya
It's a shame DN doesn't exactly support Tag Duels. The only tag duels I'm familiar with are those in WCs 2010-11. The AIs however don't even know how to use their decks...
TheKaitoKid
Me and my friends play it differently than the official rules: We each have our own 8000 Points and it plays like a battle royale except you're on a team with someone else. I think it's HILARIOUS some of the plays that come out of those situations. We also play a lot of battle royales, those are always fun too. Dwarven King
How my friends and I play: TEAMS: 1a; 1b 2a; 2b Each team has 12,000-16,000 life points. Each player has his/her OWN field. No shared fields. Turns go like this. 1a-2a-1b-2b. 2b is the first player that may enter his/her battle phase in order for everyone to get a chance to do their first turn. Players may NOT activate/use cards that are NOT placed on their side of the field. Players MAY discuss things with teammate. Players MAY use teammate's monsters for tribute/synchro/xyz summon WITH permission. Opponent may NOT attack directly UNLESS BOTH fields are clear of monsters. Things like Swords of Revealing Light take three turns from BOTH opposing players. So...yeah...that's pretty much the gist of it. One match was me (Lightswworns) and my friend (Dragunitys). Opposing team went first, so we set up our team so that my friend could be the first to attack. On my first turn, I got Dandy in the grave (which resulted in two tokens) and dropped a level four. When it was my friend's turn, he did all his crazy stuff...then used my tokens and monsters for more crazy stuff...then used his Monster Reborn on my Dadnylion...and we won that turn. :3 Another match was my other friend using Wind-Ups and me using Exodia. My friend hand looped them and swarmed while I drew for Exodia. Well...we won because I drew Exodia on my third turn. xD ...would have been turn two IF MY OPPONENT DIDN'T WARNING MY ROYAL MAGICAL LIBRARY!!!! D:< But...it's fun. :
CNo.101 S.H. Death Knight
one of the most likeable reasons that DN doesn't support it as they say (by say I mean posted) the suggestion of it is a "very bad idea" I was implied that they don't want to face twice the arguments with 4 peoples, 2 are all they can handle lol. doing tag duel on DMG was not bad but i only had a few though. I like doing it irl it's more funnier for me lol. technically it would make sense for Konami to host them because they are the one who keep making tag force games :/
Bahamut - Envoy of the End
They're not too fun in Tag Force games because your tag partner is always a dumbf***.
Gotten Himmel, this. Prefer tag duels like they are currently in Zexal, where everyone has their own LP/field/etc. Maybe that's just the fic writer in me, but would add an extra tactical element compared to shared LP. Although losing together is probably a 'team' thing in Konami's eyes.

This Account is Unplayable
While Tag Duels are an incredibly fun concept, DN has plenty more important things to implement before them. The idea of facing 2 Chaos Dragon decks, both opening FuFu, sounds beyond scary though.

Canadian
This can't exist until we get a special banlist created for it. And to figure out what cards to put on it would require an insane amount of testing IMO. Like, how do you go about banning burn? It can't happen.
