ITT: "Rabbit doesn't perform well at big tournaments." ~ Kevin Tewart

tl;dr:
He claims Windups weren't hit because they're not extremely godly. [This I understand.]
He then proceeds to say Rabbit wasn't touched because they weren't sure about the impact it would have on the TCG.

Rabbit isn't that good in OCG though, but they should've seen DinoRabbit coming when they created Dolgga, and were already aware of the impact of Leviair spam.

So, in my opinion, their logic contradicts itself.

Oh, and neither OCG or TCG has Inzektors in their tournaments. What a comforting thought.

Looking forward to his article about "hidden" decisions though.

...the Japanese are at fault for almost everything else.

It sounds racist when you say it like that.
I wonder if we would have these problems if, like Vanguard, Konami tried to put [s]both games[/s] the game on the same release schedule for both regions?

Why does Tewar always get the stick? He is obviously at fault for things like the "detaching sangan activates his effect" fiasco, but the Japanese are at fault for almost everything else.

He was implying that Rescue Rabbit doesn't see play when even after the elimination of ignition priority it generally holds 1/4 of the board in tops.

That's all Tewart is. Obviously he couldn't very well say the real reason why Rabbit didn't get hit. Be angry at Konami not him.

The real reason is that the list is catered towards the Japanese metagame, and he's too idiotic to just say that.

Well, if you bothered to read the post, you would realize that he said nothing like that. He said that Rabbit hasn't crowded out all other decks which is true because you'd often see tournaments with more Inzektor or even Dragons than Rabbits.

I am surprised how everyone jumped on the claim that Rabbit isn't good and ignored the "inzektors hadn't had their break-out moment yet" bullshit.

Besides, no matter what Tewart says in attempt to appeal to the community the Japanese always have the final say on the ban list and card design. Hate them.

Edit: completely agree with wizarus

@chris: he is obviously idiotic for doing his job and not giving his employers a reason to fire him

You do realise that the list was made in March, right? Y'know, when Rabbit still consistently held half of a top 32 at every YCS? How is that not absolutely overshadowing every other deck?

this is no longer the case so Konami did exactly what they wanted without using the banlist.

They knew that they are going to release new broken s*** so they didn't have to do anything about Rabbit.

And if you think that half of the top 32 makes the deck way too dominant you must be new to the game

It was still incredibly relevant for the time of the banlist, and idk about you but still holding 1/4 of the board in a 6-deck-metagame seems like dominance to me.

It is, but for it to be taken into account by konami, it'll probably need to have the level of dominance TeleDAD had.
Usual top 32 = 4 Lightsworn + 28 TeleDAD.

That makes it the majority.
Majority =/= Dominance.

Don't forget, the OCG doesn't have Dolkka. Rescue Rabbit having the option of Laggia or Dolkka is what makes the TCG Rabbit Deck amazing. Tour Guide is also TCG exclusive, and plays a key role in Rabbit Decks, due to being an instant Leviair.

Even if the TCG and OCG discussed the banlist options, Rescue Rabbit is very good, but the metagame in both formats was still diverse and level enough not to NEED Rabbit to be cut down (especially with Priority gone/leaving), and when you factor in how the dominant Plant Synchro Deck was getting hit badly, removing Rabbit would probably just end up killing 2 high Decks and leaving the power vacuum that would be swiftly filled by Inzektors, leaving them the most powerful Deck. Which means then more people would complain that Inzektors weren't touched.

So, we can't blame Tewart for releasing obviously wrong information because he can't say what is true? I'd rather him shut up than feed us lies.
Atleast Konami took the incentive to communicate with the playerbase, unfortunately they're just speaking lies, which basicially meant they shouldn't have bothered at all.

These aren't lies. They are just small pieces of the puzzle that don't reveal the big picture.

Oh, I don't blame Tewart for the banlist. I blame him for this extremely lacking attempt at trying to connect to the player base, although this also might be something he was asked to do. However, at this point, I'm going to blame him for this absolute nonsense.

Some of these explanations probably are real, but then the rest is similar to me adding random bits and pieces of things I heard in class to my school essays to meet a page quota. (aka either dumb stuff from other students or irrelevant junk from the teacher) =P

Should have put an emote in my post because it was only half-serious. :)

That whole banlist explanation thing is a joke. The only thing that I wanna say is that people shouldn't put the blame on Tewart.
I'm not putting the blame on Tewart. I'm putting the blame on the Konami higher-ups who ask him to say this stuff.
