Lunar Origins
There are some songs out there that bring out the best in us, or the worst in us. Please, state songs that compel your emotions to overheat; songs that somehow cause you to cry, or be very happy.
As for me this song, known as Green-Eyed Jealousy, has a lot of meaning. The character it is the theme of is Parsee Mizuhashi; a youkai of jealousy. The story behind the type of being Parsee is is that she was once a human who waited years for her lover to return, only to later find out that her lover had taken another woman and started a family. In a fit of rage, the woman who was betrayed would slaughter the new family as well as her lover and turn into a being of pure jealousy, known in Japanese culture as the hashihime, or a 'bridge princess'. Legend goes that these demons would wait under a bridge for a couple in love and confront them, making them break up under the threat of death. The theme itself exists only as a boss theme in the game Touhou 11: Subterranean Animism, and only a minor boss at that. However, the piece of music in my opinion exists as one of the single most amazing things ZUN, the creator of Touhou, has ever created.
Blake
A lot does, though recently, it's the Theme of the SSS that's really been doing it. Just... all the messages connected to it, thanks to story context, are relieving... things I wanna hear.
CMRenji
One of the most touching to me is When I'm Gone by 3 Doors Down. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miVb8kngaQU Brothers from the FMA soundtrack is also touching. And a few songs by The Fray. It was just very emotional, and I cry quite easily at that sort of thing.
DARKPLANT RISING
I wonder how many people besides me actually understood what really happened in End of Evangelion, but I can definitely say it's one of the best works ever that opened up a new age for Anime. Admiral Tim
Technically it didn't make me cry, but it is very emotional. "Vanilla Twilight" by Owl City.
Lonk
A good number of Mother 3's soundtrack. Notable examples include Name These Children {:48 always gets me everytime}, She was like a Sunflower, Sunflowers and Illusions, Sunflowers and Illusions, It is Finished and, of course, The Frucking Love Theme! There are more, but my heart just cannot take crying....it's just so hard to type when you are crying... Now, if you need to excuse me, the music had reached a sensitive spot in my heart... Mr.Robot
Mostly listen to metal/hardcore and while they're a lot of beautiful songs within that genre, the only music that could make me cry will always come from RADIOHEAD. No other band can write songs that makes you feel so a live then write another song so depress you just wanna drink 10 bottles of rum and slowly die from alcohol poisoning. I remember, i was playing gears of war 3, and suddenly that song started to play... it reminded me of the story, how much people died and turned to ashes and stuff, closed something brought me to crying ever. Thar
I find it really hard to make myself cry... But the closest to crying I can get is from anything nostalgic that makes me wish I could live the moment that said song accompanies. Like 90s music. Whenever I hear it playing, I remember riding in the old mini-van, passing a green bean factory that has a truck dumping beans onto a conveyor. And that song was at some point playing at that moment. It chokes me up.
Lyfe.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcQ3iegpZTc And, for obvious reasons, this song is much worse when you've dedicated it towards those you've lost.
