Mugendramon Posted July 22, 2012 Report Share Posted July 22, 2012 With the advent of a few -like, three?- Numbers on DN, and with me wanting to host an event, the archetype that counts itself will be once more the theme of a tourney! ...But some nice surprises await those who are deemed to hold the unluckiest Numbers! [spoiler='Rules'] But first, let's be formal. Top-tier deck are prohibited, so are alternate win conditions, burn, and stall. Because I don't want anybody with a Rank 4 running around making Evolzars instead. If you're thinking of playing your games anywhere other than DN, you've obviously skipped the first line! This tournament will be held in a Hunter-Target style: You will each get a prey: If you catch yours, their target is your target. If they catch YOU, then your Hunter will hunt them. If your prey overwhelms you, your hunter will get them for you. Like before, there will be an -unannounced- Hunter will not have a starting Number. HOWEVER, he does NOT have a Set target. He has perfect right to introduce himself as anyone's Hunter, albeit not being that. As such, he is not being hunted. If a prey is taken down by this Hunter, their Hunter will be contacted by me to be guided to their new prey. If the Hunter is taken down however, sucks for him/her. You're [i]supposed[/i] to play matches, but if both players agree on a Single instead, I couldn't care less. [spoiler='Concerning Numbers themselves...'] Your Deck must contain a copy of your Number, at all times; and a way to Summon it, at all times. Target/Hunter's Numbers you acquire can all be kept, they are however optional. For the time being... As with previous Tournaments, Numbers will get their anime battle immunity effects. "This card cannot be destroyed by battle, except with a "Number" monster." I'll give out the Numbers however I feel like it. Due to some Numbers being terrible irl because of their effects, some of them will use their anime effects altogether, and drop their actual ones. Others, due to the case being inverse, will keep their printed effects. The lucky Anime Numbers will be Number 6, Number 8 and Number 19. [spoiler='And for the... "special" one...'] AND THE VERY SPECIAL, VERY HATED, NUMBER 56: GOLDRAT, DUE TO BEING PARTICULARLY TERRIBAD, will get this additional effect, for the sake of fairness: [i]"If this card would be destroyed by a card effect: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card instead. If you do: you can target 1 Level 1 monster in your hand or Graveyard; Special Summon that target during the End Phase."[/i][/spoiler] [/spoiler][/spoiler] As for an application, just give me your DN name. After all your YCM name will already be in your post. This will start once I have given out all Numbers. [/quote] ...Using a Number that was not assigned to you and you haven't won is not permitted, that should be [i]reeeeeeeealy [/i]obvious. And, to reach your target, you can do whatever you want. You could face them head-on, or you could ask for a casual Duel then reveal your intention after the duel's begun.
