You don't think it would make an interesting (albeit probably casual) option? I'm under the impression that you can banish to Summon a Monarch and then get the effect without having to Tribute anything. If only it was able to stack for the same Tribute Summon. Normal Summon Beast King Barbaros, Normal Summon Obelisk... seems fun. EDIT: also, I don't know what people are complaining about. This card is a pretty decent adition to the cardpool. I don't want stuff that's broken enough to lift something to tier 1 by itself, and I don't want more stupid fillers like "Blackwing Brisote the Tailwind" and "HERO Barrier" either. [/quote] If I remember correctly, it has to do with Treeborn's ability to be constantly summoned through its effect for easy Tributing and/or Synchro plays.
