"Incorrect...I do not wear this armor because I think it will protect me." Aesir stated. The ice shard pierced through his right eye, but suddenly that very same eye was converted into diamond. It made the eye now useless, but it also prevented the ice shard from penetrating straight into his brain. A bit of a horrifying sight.

He said nothing at the sudden appearance of the princess, neither running to her rescue nor scorning her in hatred. He was well aware of her power as a von Mira, her ability to create shadow avatars and her unique ability to temporarily convert energy into actual matter like swords and such. Such abilities usually required an in-depth understanding of the functions and structure of a weapon, after all. She may be taking a shortcut, but the mattered is that she was a powerful opponent in and of herself.

"I wear it because if I had not, I will be long dead by now." He stated. As if on emphasis, a fireball from a random human sorcerer was thrown into his face, but it quickly disappeared in failure, and the sorcerer was further caught up in the battle to do anything else. Numerous bullets also bounced against his armor every now and then. "You side with the humans. Why? What guarantee do you have that they'll be any better than Lord Elnaer? How do you know they won't simply force us into becoming their slaves, in retaliation for our own actions many centuries ago?"

He circled Lyon a bit until the invader vampire was between both him and Niasa, surrounding him.

"Being strategic in this diamond coating is impossible. Even now, I rely on nothing more than luck and inferior skill to survive." He continued on. "The three of us are all part of the royal family, and are thus a candidate for becoming the Vampire Lord after Elnaer's death. Our princess is the most suitable, but I know what the humans have ordered you to do. Kill her, am I correct?"

While talking, he shed the spikes off his sword and swung cleanly at Lyon with faster speed.

---------------------

"P- princess?!" A royal guard who looked young, possibly only around the age of a teenager in vampire standards, ran over to her and took out two rifles...so, he was ambidextrous. He aimed them at the two unknown enemies, Lyon and some diamond-clad golem. "Princess, it's not safe here! We need to go back to the castle, I'll escort you if you wish---"

---------------

A scientist yawned. "How much time remaining until our lord wakes up?"

"Only about two or three minutes left." A doctor replied, taking off his bloodied gloves.

He glanced at the remains of the dissected elf clone lying on a table, unsure what to do with it. Finally, he decided to drag it behind the golden throne, and hid it there. The Vampire Lord can decide what to do with it afterwards. Since the throne room was soundproof, none of them inside were aware of the war outside.

----------------------------------

John Alexander had forgotten to bring a map. How stupid. But, what he did know was that the throne room should be on the sixth floor, so he began running up the steps as fast as he could while wearing armor. For now, he was conserving his energy, he needed all he could...

...for the final battle with Lord Elnaer was but two minutes away.

"That's true at least, if not for that armour I would have ended your life already. I'm impressed you managed to react in time to prevent the ice shard penetrating any further than your eye, though either way, that eye is still useless to you now. With that at least, your depth perception should be off, which will make it easier for me to fight you." Lyon, getting wary of the way Aesir was circling, almost to put him between both Aesir and Niasa, kept circling around even after reaching that point.

"I side not with just humans, but with vampires as well, or have you failed to notice the vampire rebellion fighting your troops too. And anyway, I can guarantee that vampires will not be subjected to slavery, I have power enough to oppose John if he betrays us and attempts anything of the sort. Also, for all his pure battle ability, he lacks the experience in battle that I have acumulated over decades of fighting and homing my skills, giving me a slight advantage over him." Lyon said nnothing to the accusation of being sent to kill Niasa, somewhat wary of the gunman now next to her pointing a gun at them, as well as of Niasa's own skills with the sai she was carrying as if well used to them.

When his opponent shed more of the diamond away from his body, from off the mace, which retook it's original form of a sword and charged, Lyon waited for him to get close before reacting. Then, when his opponent swung at him, stepped slightly to the right side of his body, into his opponent's new blind spot, and swung his sword straight towards the armoured kneecap of the charging vampire.

Coincidentally as the same time that the vampire was discussing the concerns of human rule one human was struggling to get a spear out of a slain vampires skull. I swear I mess this up every time. How did my mother make it looks so easy? Hmmm speaking of my moms I should really go visit them its been so long. With a vicious yank she accidentally separated the skull from the vampire in addition to the spear. But this was just a testament of how lost she was. Clarice had readapted her system of nailing vampires the walls and ceilings as a way to not get lost but people were getting scarce. At this stage of the game she would simply find whatever vampire she could and they would do. Unfortunately that means there were some servant-esk wall fixtures. She walked down the halls and it was odd because there weren't any enemies. What she didn't know is that most f the castle defences were concentrated on one front and sides. Clarice unknowingly was in the back of the castle so she wouldn't be able to go on complete murder rages just yet it was an odd feeling being left alone with her thoughts and wandering. On the bright side if she has been by herself this long that means plan Espresso Forming the Chocolate was a success and yay to that.

She walked down the halls and was getting slightly agitated that she didn't have in...markings to post but the she lucked out. She could hear voices in the distance. It didn't matter what they were it just mattered that they existed. She was so happy she opened a ripple and pulled out a new weapon the she had been toying with. She unconsciously let the blade drag on the floor and started singing. What was around the corner happened to be three now alert royal guards. However while these men were normally super smart and ready for combat, hence the brilliant idea of scattering them around the castle, they couldn't help but feel a chill in the air. But they quickly shook that off as they heard the metal scrape against the floor and they saw the shadow approach from the other end of the hall and then they heard the singing.

Dada, dada, dada, dadada, dada, dada, dada,

She turns down the hall and stares at her prey. Boys and girls of every age. She raises her scythe and the other end of the hall. Wouldn't you like to see something strange? She appears in the middle of her preys efficient triangle formation and they attempt to regain form but... Come with us and you will see this. This our town of Halloween. She unleashes a series of slashes at all three. This is Halloween one vampire successfully blocks and manages to get away with a slash on his arm. This is Halloween another vampire blocked the attacks as well. Pumpkins scream in the dead of night, the third one however knew he was too slow to block all those slashes so he decided to use his enhanced vampire skills to jump back and gain some distance. Clarice in her calm melodic state noticed this and she leaped towards the one who separated himself from the group. This is Halloween everybody make a scene she began to run towards the distant guard the other two guards used this chance to jump off the walls and try to attack Clarice with her back turned. Though she was already ready for this form of attack. Trick or treat till the neighbors gonna die of fright she turned her head back swung at one of the mid air vampires and he didn't attempt to dodge because he could tell that the blade would miss his head. What he forgot though was this was a scythe. Clarice brung her blade down and severed his head clean off. In this town, everybody scream the other royal guard simply landed in front of Clarice shocked by what he just saw as his friends head rolled next to his foot and then the living one just looked at Clarice. In this town of Halloween she cracked a smile as the blood dripped from her scythe and stained the floor.

The closest royal guard assaulted her in blind rage trying to avenge his friend and she simply obliged by clashing blades with his. I am the one hiding under your bed. Teeth ground sharp and eyes glowing red. It was as if her eyes did glow red for a second as she sang her battle hymn and then she saw a gap in the man's armor from the chest plate to the waste. Exposed flesh...needless to say he was cut in half. And with the last ounce of consciousness he had he just see her armored boots and hear her song. I am the one hiding up your stairs, fingers like snakes and spiders in my hair. As he passed out his vision of Clarice warped into what the song was clearly he thought was that he had failed to slay a monster. Interesting how that is not that far from the truth.

The final one who's initial jump backward caused all of this could only watch in horror as he was killing his natural fear of Clarice. This is Halloween, this is Halloween she decided to slowly approach this lone vampire creepily walking down the hall. Halloween, Halloween, Halloween, Halloween she sang dragging her scythe. This royal guard stilled his nerve and instead of running he was ready to lay his life on the line to beat this creature. In this town we call home everyone hail to the pumpkin song she sang as she pointed her weapon at the last one standing as if to say come hither. He charged down the hall but this last one dropped his sword and pulled out a sniper rifle from his back though this didn't seem to phase Clarice. In this town, don't we love it now. Everyone's...SHUT UP!! the angry vampire interrupted as he shot a deadly accurate bullet at her skull. She deflected it, Everyone's...another shot, same response. Everyone's....again, He was so blinded by fear and rage that he did not even notice that he came within striking distance of her weapon. He pulled the trigger once more and nothing happened. It seems as if he forgot to reload from his attempts to snipe the one outside. Everybody's waiting for the next surprise. A single tear went down the vampires face. This is not the honorable death that he wanted this was simple insanity. His tear had barely reached his chin by the time his head had touched the floor. With his body following seconds later.

Clarice went back to humming as she looked at her handiwork. Not bad seeing as she wasn't as accustomed to a scythe like other weapons. Nevertheless back to work. She stuck the blade of the scythe into one of victims bodies and dragged it back down the hall whence she came humming her her tune. Dada, dada, dada, dadada, dada, dada, dada...she had hallways to go mark.

No I wish to remain here, thank you for your offer though, but if you wish I would feel safer if you stayed here, Niasa smiled kindly at the vampire, this man, if he is who he says he is, is my uncle. The sadness returned to Niasa's eyes these two men were family and yet they fought each other, one having such hatred. Aesir stop this, don't you see this man is your family. He is part of our blood line, but you have such hatred towards him. I'm not defending what my brother has done, but one never turns there back on family. No matter how much they hate you, or how many bad things they have done. Don't you under- AAHHH! Niasa collapsed to the ground as the arrow struck her through the leg, her back had been totally exposed to anyone who had wanted to take a free shot at her, while she was talking with Lyon and Aesir.

Niasa's eyes began to tear up from the pain, grabbing the sai she had dropped she cut the shaft of the arrow, and was able to pull it out of her leg. Dragging herself to a corner were she wouldn't be exposed, but could still talk and see Aesir and Lyon she began again. Lyon I know you have endured so much in your life being cast out of the castle, regarded as a disgrace to the family, but just step back and look at yourself. If I'm tracing our family lines correctly that is your nephew your trying to kill. Niasa though she had tears still in her eyes it was not from the pain of the arrow that had just been lodged leg, but from the fact these two men were fighting each other.

The young vampire soldier shifted uncomfortably, but like a loyal member of the royal brigade force, he stood firm with dual rifles in his ambidextrous hands. "Alright then, princess. I'll protect you throughout this battle...!" He followed her to the corner by the castle wall she had crawled over to, and took out a first-aid kit, before starting to treat her wound. It'd be infected if he didn't do anything. Lord Elnaer will die in the ensuing battle, he knew it, and this woman was to be the next Vampire Lord. He couldn't let her fall and allow the throne to be taken by these invading monsters...

------------------------

Aesir countered quickly. He couldn't see Lyon from his blind eye, but there was at least one thing he could do. Quickly, he transferred the majority of his diamond armor into his entire right side, turning them more or less into smooth blocks. Then, after he heard the clang by his kneecap, was forced to shed away a large part of the diamonds. Transferring matter quickly had its faults; the trasferred matter would be incapable of transferring again to another part of the body for a little while (think of it as a cooldown timer), so in this battle, it would only end up as dead weight.

With a large part of the diamond shed away, he was now a lot lighter. He was still covered from head to toe in diamonds, but they were thin now. A hammer could probably plow its way through now.

"...Princess. This man has already betrayed the royal family." Aesir breathed out, slightly annoyed at this interruption and act of mercy. He was a hundred percent certain that Lord Elnaer will die tonight, which would mean that Niasa von Mira would ascend to the throne. If this was the kind of person who would become the next Vampire Lord, he may as well try and take the throne for himself!!!...he cleared those disturbing thoughts away. "He killed my brother, and plots to kill you as well. His intention is to take the throne for himself, and from there he'll proceed to deal with the barbaric humans."

Determined to finish this, he threw away his sword and shed away the entirety of his diamond gauntlet. He flexed his newly-revealed pale hand, having decided to opt for a different strategy since he had lost a lot of weight now. It was obvious that this opponent of his far exceeded him in swordplay as well as magic, but both Vanir and he were capable of turning organic matter into diamonds. Therefore, his plan was decided; to touch Lyon. Anywhere would do, but the important part was that he would get the chance to convert his body into diamonds, matter which was incompatible with the body. All it took was a diamond brain or heart, maybe even a diamond neck, to kill a person. THAT was his plan.

With that, he lunged forward with much greater speed than before, his shield by his side to block away any attack that might come from his right side. With his left side, he ducked low before jumping up, attempting to grab Lyon's...head? Chest? It didn't matter.

Lyon, hearing the clang of the sword hitting the newly reinforced diamond, jumped back quickly, to avoid any sudden counterattack. Instead though, he was stunned as most of the armour was shed away along with his sword, before the armour around one hand was entirely shed, revealing the pale hand. With a speed far surpassing Aesir's previous speed, Aesir charged towards him, hand outstretched, looking like he was using some sort of last ditch effort to beat Lyon and avenge his brother. Those thoughts passed through Lyon's mind in the second it took for Aesir to just about reach him, before Lyon reacted in kind. Lyon moved slightly, towards Aesir's right side to avoid the hand, instead having it brush and slip off Lyon's iced shoulderplate as it went past, before Aesir continued past him, unable to easily quell the momentun produced by the charge. Calling upon the excesses of his speed and agility, Lyon twisted around as Aesir slid past, swinging his sword directly at the newly weakened diamond armour on Aesir's back, before pulling back away from his enemy, to view the damages his attack had dealt.

At that point, his brain managed to finish taking in what Niasa had said, and so he replied to them both, "If anyone chooses to take up arms against me, family or not, I will react in kind and cut them down. Nephew or not, Aesir chose to fight me, and thus I accepted that and fought him. If you choose to stand against me, I will do the same to you." As if to demonstrate that, Lyon flourished his sword, before pointing it at Niasa. "You know nothing of how hard my life has been, the only family I've had since I was still a really young child was the bounty hunters that took me in after my parents went crazy because my family was cast out by the head vampires. From then on I have been fighting to put food on the table of a night. I'm not sure why Elnaer became the way he did, but because of him, my comrades were slaughtered by the royal guard on Elnaer's orders at the start of this war. Do you know what that's like, losing all of the people closest to you at once, without a single chance to save any of them. If you're looking for a reason I keep fighting, that's it, revenge, as well as to prevent further discrimination between humans and vampires."

"Guh..!!!" Aesir coughed out blood, the sword having penetrated through the thin diamond, and burying itself midway through his back. The rest of the diamond had managed to hold it back, but the wound was still there. And unlike the eye, it was a vital wound that he couldn't risk converting into diamond or else he would want to kill himself via a strange variant of stomach poisoning. From the pain, he knelt down. He blinked, and shed away the majority of his shield, turning it into a kind of diamond knife. A tiny smirk formed on his face as Lyon told his story.

"Before Lord Elnaer ascended to the throne, he had a cousin named Njoror von Mira, who moved away from Nuevida for a more peaceful life....ugh....but one day, he and his wife were caught in an attack by a rebel group of humans who were preaching that vampires were some sort of spawns of demons..." He struggled to get up as he told his story. "My older brother Vanir and I watched hiding under a table as the humans mercilessly set them on fire. After they died, the two of us returned to Nuevida and were allowed to join in the royal force brigade..."

Having decided now that diamond was useless here in a fight against this person, he shed away everything but the diamond knife in his hand and the long diamondized hair that acted as his strange variant of a helmet.

"You think you know everything, huh?! You think you're the only one who's suffered?!?! Well, guess what-"

Suddenly, a sphere of wind formed out of nowhere and hit him from his back, blowing him off his feet. Before he could retaliate to the sudden interruption, a fireball hit him in his back. From there, everything went quickly. His whole body went on fire, he screamed in agony. A second fireball appeared and also hit him as he landed on the ground, this time square in his face. He attempted to cry out, to scream out, to curse at the world, but never got the chance. His head had begun nothing more than a flaming skull beneath a diamond helmet looking like hair.

Two trainees appeared. They were among the people Lyon himself had given his advice to; "You need to add a bit more mana into that fireball. As it is, you would be lucky to even do any damage to the target, let alone damage a single vampire." Walking elsewhere, he could see a sphere of pure wind spin off to the side when it was thrown at the target, and tracked its trajectory to the source, a middle aged man struggling with his aim. "Those winds are decently powerful, but you don't have enough control over the trajectory. If the last one is anything to go by, you are more likely to miss your target than to do any damage."

"Are you okay, sir?!" A trainee asked, glancing nervously at the burning corpse. His clothes were torn, and there seemed to be a wound on his right wrist. His face most of all was ghastly and pale. But other than that, he was okay. The other two who had aided him ran off to continue fighting against the royal guards.

------------

"Wha- wha-" Before his very eyes, the young royal guard watched as three inexperienced human trainees killed off one of the most powerful members of the royal force brigade, and a member of the royal family at that. Horrified, he held out his rifles in warning to anyone that came close to the princess. He couldn't let any stray or intentional magical attack OR projectile OR weapon get past him.

Alexi knew full well what the soldier was trying to pull, get him to turn his head for a clear shot at his face, and yet he still turned to face the sniper. However, he dipped his head just enough so that when the sniper fired the bullet ricocheted just off the top of his dragon's skull helmet. Of course he was able to see where the sniper had disappeared into, and to that end he simply bolted from where he had taken control of the machine gun towards where the royal elite had dropped down into the wall and with but a moment's time dedicated to ridding himself of his wings he took care to open the trap door and drop down into the staircase.

"This is obviously a trap," he said aloud as he began making his way down the winding stairs, his hands shifting into the white-hot claws which cast an eery harsh light onto the environment around him. Furthermore, he prepared to use one of his breath weapons in the case that things got really nasty which they were almost certainly going to. But then a different idea came to mind, and so he choked down the readied blast of flames to allow him to speak more clearly, and in a loud voice. "Your loyalty is admirable, but you must surely know how much of a threat to our people Elnaer is. The man is insane, absolutely insane, and some day human blood won't be enough for him. I've seen his kind before, and invariably they turn into monsters at some point or another. Do you want to know how best you can serve your people? Stand down, and either join this force of true vampire patriots or return home to your family."

As he finished his statement he reached the end of the stairwell, and once more readied a blast of flames to be released from his throat. He knew full well how to get to the throne room from where he was, and lacking any specific foe to do battle with he knew that was where he could best be used. Of course he could also act as a siege breaker and attack one of the groups of royal guards from behind, but for now he was simply readied to deal with this one particular guard who had presented himself to be dealt with then and there.

Lower your guns, those who live by the sword will certainly die by it, and I wish you to live through this night. By the way my loyal guard what is your name I should at least know the name of my protector. Niasa smiled kindly at the young guard, he could have run off by now, but instead he had chosen to stay with her and had even tended to her wound. The sadness in her eyes returned though, and she wondered if she would ever be able to smooth over the scar it had left in her soul, when she saw Aesir burn to death. My protector I need your help to stand. Assuming the guard came close enough for her to lean on him, Niasa would put her elbow on the young boy's shoulder pad, and cleared her throat to give a speech.

Dear uncle, you have become power consumed, I may not know what it means to be hurt in the way you have, but I do know the feeling of what it is like to be pushed away, unloved by the one closest to you. I will not act like I know your pain, nor will I offer you condolences. That does not justify your actions, you have murdered a boy innocent in the pain you have been dealt, and like I said I was thrown away by my brother, but yet I'm still here for him. Do you know why its because he's family, do you think it is right what your doing, because I can tell you, even from my young stand point, I know it is not. You have murdered tow members of your family, and you intend to murder two more to fuel your petty power grasp. If I were to stand against you at this moment there is no doubt in my mind that you would strike me down, injured or not.

Unsure of how her uncle would react, Niasa shifted her position, so she was next to her protector's face, and whispered in his ear if he makes any movement to attack us you hoist me up on your back and run the other direction. Don't make any attempt to fight him, he'll just kill you, I'll cover out back got it. Now turning back toward's her uncle, I intend to rule from the throne if my brother is to perish this night, but not for myself, but for my brother Alsa so if he wishes the throne he does not have to fight through people like you to take his rightful place on the seat of the throne of Nuevedia. I have confidence that despite our years, Alsa would be a much more compitent and benevolent ruler than either of us.

Watching Aesir make his speech, Lyon talked softly as Aesir was dieing, "I know all about that rebel group, my group of bounty hunters were the ones sent to bring the group down, the only parts of that story I didn't know was that the family were royals, and what actually happened to their children afterwards." Turning back to Niasa, he said, "I am not making a petty power grab here, I had absolutely no intention of actually going for the throne myself when I made my choice to join the human's rebellion. It just so happened that during that time, they seemed to decide that I am the best choice to take over the throne, so for the sake of those who are relying on me, I will follow the path that has been laid out before me. I seek not power, but peace, and to achieve that peace, I will stain my hands in as much blood as is necesary, be it vampire or human, family or not. And yes, if you were to fight me, injured or not, I would strike you down. One more thing, while Alsa may have been a better ruler than me, that is irrelevant, it is impossible for someone who is dead to rule."

"My name is Aro a- and...alright..." The royal guard stuttered a bit, listening to and obeying the vampire princess. He listened to her touching speech about family and the such, but then became confused when she mentioned Alsa von Mira, the late vampire prince. Did she still believe that he was alive...? "P- princess, isn't Alsa......?" Because he was nervous, he couldn't bring it up.

----------------

Oh crap.

The royal guard who had been in wait for a surprise attack, complete with wielding an explosive grenade also designed by the missing Doctor Azami Yamada. He heard his speech, but didn't really listen to it. What, did he think he would change sides just like that?

They were now at the bottom of the stairwell. There was only one entrance leading out of the castle wall, presuming one doesn't simply destroy a chunk to create an opening hole for escape. It was a spiral castle wall, going all around the castle. It was somewhat narrow, like a cave.

Then he turned around, began running forward, and flew the grande at the iron warmonger as he appeared, before turning around and running again as it exploded. Then he turned away and tried to run up another stairwell, and from there get a chance to take the machine gun and fire it all in a last-ditch attempt.

At the very least, he could distract this...THING...

Lyon have no wish to fight you, the only reason I have fought tonight is self-defense and you are no exception. It seems that you will not be wavered, but let me just leave you with one thing. Just because a path is laid out for you does not mean you must follow it, your destiny is your own to forge. Hate and vengeance hurt no-one, but ourselves, we must learn to let it go or we will be slaves to it our entire life. With that I leave you dear Uncle, with the hope that my words will somehow affect you today.

Niasa turned again to the guard who's name she knew now to be Aro, my loyal Aro I need you to take me further into the castle, there is something I need to retrieve and someone I need to see. Well assuming that they are acting as I would suspect them to. During this whole time she had not mentioned Alsa again knowing that they would look at her like she was crazy, and cursing herself for revealing that Alsa was alive, that has to remain a secret for his own safety until he wished to show himself then I will keep his secret. "Al- alright, princess...!" Aro said, somewhat nervously, and slung one of his rifles over his back before helping her up with the now-freed arm.

In his other arm, he still held a rifle, just in case something or someone tried to attack, so he could fire at them. "Back off...cur." He warned Lyon in as cold a tone he could, pointing it at him for emphasis.

While he carried the princess over the battlefield, some other royal guards noticed her presence and began dedicating their efforts to defending her, giving her cover and protecting her from enemy shot and spells until the two of them had reached the castle. He looked up.

Lord Elnear, being on the fifth floor of this gigantic castle-palace, was but two minutes away. But a question kept bothering him; why hadn't the Vampire Lord come out yet to decimate all this entire invasion force?

---------------------------

A single guard watched in horror, hiding beneath a table as a lone black human woman decimated whole royal guards effortlessly, wielding a scythe while they wielded guns, all the while singing, torturing them in sheer cold blood, and was horrified at the human's acts, needless to say. Not being a royal guard, he didn't have the skill nor the talent that royal guards had, but she just- she just- she just DECIMATED them all!

Terrified, she - as the guard was a she - hid beneath the table, only able to watch. She held a pistol in one hand, and from this distance she might be able to shoot the woman...but didn't dare risk revealing her presence.

As soon as they were in the castle, Niasa leaned down so she could speak to Aro, I need you to lay me down here, this place should be safe enough, but unfortunately I couldn't trust that Lyon would kill me while I did this. Try to make sure that I'm not disturbed, and wake me if anyone comes here, because if your killed while I'm using my shadow avatar, I may die. Also if you must wake me say reveiller de votre sommeil. An invocation of the spell will wake me immediately. Now if you'll excuse me I am going to take a nap. Niasa breathed deeply, and concentrated on the shadows that would be near the throne room, she did not want to show up directly in the throne room, due to the fact she didn't want Elnear, or anyone else for that matter that she was in shadow avatar.

Niasa began to materialize close to the throne room, but it would still take her a few minutes to reach it, and that was if the path wasn't damaged structurally. Niasa walked through the halls of the palace, the guards to busy fighting to ask her what she was doing, or maybe they were running from something she couldn't tell. Either way she continued towards the throne room only to run into the a scientist fleeing from the throne room. Niasa examined the female, and decided to question the woman as she had never seen her around the palace before, who might you be miss, and why do you seem to be running from my brother's room. Had Aro been paying attention to Niasa he would have noticed that instead the words she was speaking, he would have heard he moan some unintelligible gibberish, and notice that she was quite warm as if she had a fever, but these were all normal when Niasa was in shadow avatar.

The shadow avatar is somewhat like astral projection, but instead of your spirit traveling your consciousness is literally put into a shadow, from there it takes a form most familiar to that consciousness which would be one's own body. From there one can then move the shadow as if it was there own body. During this time though one cannot use magic, nor communicate with the people through there own body, hence the unintelligible moaning. The fever is quite simple to explain, using the shadow avatar causes extreme duress on one's body, but if one is to exit the shadow avatar this all immediately fades, as the duress is no longer present, though the user will feel somewhat tired afterword depending on how long the avatar was used.

"Ah...okay, princess." the young royal guard said awkwardly, and stood by. He had a worried expression as the princess appeared to be muttering gibberish and having a sort of fever, but maybe this kind of thing was only natural. Carrying dual rifles, he prepared himself for anyone that might come along and try to threaten her life.

---------------------------------------

"Niasa von Mira." Doctor Azami said blankly, not bothering with any formalities at all whatsoever.

She had a slightly annoyed look on her face, not because she had been found, nor because she had come face to face with Lord Elnaer's sister, but because she hadn't been recognized. This fact annoyed her. Azami Yamada, the legendary doctor who brought about the peace between humans and vampires a century ago. On human terms, she should look fifty, but she looked younger than that.

"Can this wait? I have a more important project that I need to focus on right now." She waved the shadow projection away, and continued to walk through the hallway, heading downstairs. Before she did, though, she turned back to the shadow. "Little girl, if you value your life, then you will not enter through that throne room...or else you may never return to that precious original body of yours."

And with that, she disappeared down the steps.

--------------------------

Meanwhile, two floors down, on the other set of staircase, John Alexander fearlessly walked up. Flames licked at his body, his sword ready to cut down all that moved.

Clarice had just resumed her march down her original hallway and marked up the she came from. A spear through the torso was good enough to nail the vampire with. To some it would seem cruel but to her...it was a needed chore because who likes the thought of being lost. She came back and saw there was quite a pool of blood forming in that hallway with her fallen prey which was somewhat interesting because she never really stuck around the bodies to see that them ooze blood and the like. Nevertheless she just stared at the blood wondering if she could see her reflection in it. As she stared into the blood of the fallen she could feel the stench of fear surrounding her. She rolled her eyes and didn't even bother to look around she just wanted to get this disdain out in the open.

Come now wench reveal yourself before I come find you...and we both know what will happen if I find you. She said snickering as she propped up the upper torso of one of the vampires and nailed it to the side of the wall with one of the blades from the armory. Its hard to do all of this effort without the momentum of battle to lighten the load for you. As for the this mystery woman well Clarice didn't know for sure that it was but usually her sixth sense of murder rage would have auto-killed any man creature in the vicinity. For some odd reason her sixth sense of death turns off in the presence of women. Its rather odd actually. The fact that there was a mortal still alive in a place where she had slaughtered could only lead her to believe it was a female though if you follow down the trail of bodies that marked her path you would see plenty of hanging, nailed, dismembered, and impaled female corpses. These women most likely said or did something that Clarice found dishonorable or they were the only ones in the hallway and it had to be marked. Nevertheless this hallway had a body in it and depending on what this vampire girl said. She could very well be dragged down to the next one.

Alexi sighed quietly as he realized that any attempt at turning this guard would be falling on deaf ears, not to mention that the very moment he was in view of the guard a grenade was thrown his way. Rather than do something fancy to avoid getting hurt by it, Alexi just started running straight after the guard who'd thrown it so as to leave the explosive well behind him. By the time that it had exploded, he was well out of the harmful reach of the shrapnel, particularly considering that he was covered from head to toe in enchanted armor.

But then he came to the stairwell, and this was the part where he had to decide if he was going to give the guard another chance to spring a trap on him. He decided not to in a rather direct way. He began sprinting up the stairs after the guard, for obvious reasons not having to worry about fatigue, and prepared to utilize that breath weapon of his. The very second that he got a view of the guard, or anyone unfortunate enough to startle him on this path that he was running down, he would open his jaws and fill the area before him with flames hot enough to scorch the stone of the castle black. Obviously anyone caught in the path of this without some form of protection against the flames would be incinerated.

Since there was no point in hiding, as the monstrous human daughter of Satan had found her. She tried to calm herself down, and then the female guard crawled out of the table before getting up. Once more, she witnessed the destruction Clarice had caused, with shock. Well, there was no way she herself could win against this person, but she had to think; how could she survive? She knew that if she begged for mercy or ran away, this woman would be sadistic and cut her down anyway. Sadism. That's what this black woman was.

So...fight back with words?

"HAH! You think you're scary? Have you ever seen Adrian, the leader of the prison guards before?!" She retorted, and laughed. A nervous, yet pompous laugh. "Every single prisoner that enters this prison is driven to insanity before their deaths. He haunts humans like no longer, relishing in their blood much more than you do with vampires. He has no need to hide under the bed or in the closet. Why do that when he can stand right in front of them, haunting them as they sleep?!"

She held a sword in her left hand, just in case, though she knew it was futile.

"You want to become a monster? Well, perhaps you should ask him for advice!" She exclaimed, before curling her lips. "Let me live, and I will bring you to him. How about it?"

SILLY WENCH!! Clarice yelled as she slapped this impudent girl across the face for spouting such nonsensical gibberish. Where is you pride as a woman? Look at you preaching about a man and how a man will make this situation easier for you. How dare you! This is why women are so fragile, you think, no you want some man to come and save you instead of doing things with your own to hands. Clarice got real close to this woman's face. If there is an enemy in your path then you kill it and if you can't you go and do the honorable thing which is run away, live, train your butt off, THEN kill it when its sleeping. You do not piss yourself and push your problems on this Adrian person. At this moment Clarice is clearly angry but not just at this female more at the state of womendom in Lath. Do you know how many women I killed to get to this moment right here? None I killed men and spineless cowards who ran away screaming with swords in their hands. I take no solace in killing women, but I haven't met a vampire that I say earns the title of "woman."

Clarice pushed the female vampire warrior against a wall and opened a black ripple and pulled a mace from it. With every question she was about to ask she would smash the mace against the wall next this young ladies head. Where is your ovarian fortitude? Where is your honor? WHERE IS YOUR PRIDE AS A WOMAN? After she stopped Clarice simply sighed as she was tired of these weak as water females prancing around as women. Drop your weapons and leave my sight. I thought Lord blasty vamps was the reason vampire women were pathetic but I see its just your nature. As this no named mortal before Clarice hopefully acted right and ran for her life. Clarice proceed to walk down the hall with the girls armaments and proceeded to contemplate.

Once she was a safe (for other people) distance from anyone she stopped for a second. She had stored the girls weapons in her other dimensional storage room and pulled out a mace. The air was quiet and with is seconds the whistling noise quickly followed by a malicious pounding of castle walls. Clearly Clarice was pissed. Who the Hell is this Adrian she muttered to herself. This was the third time someone had dare to mention this man's name as some kind of equivalent to her. Alexi, Lyon, and this new vamp's voices just echoed in her head about this mysterious Adrian fellow. Its not that he was more infamous than her or that she was supposed to be the one to combat him it was the comparison that was offensive. Her cruelty and sadism as righteous as it was (in her mind), was somehow less than or equal to that of some random man's. How could she face her mothers, her bodyguards, the girls she trained and nurtured for so long (okay well maybe a day or two), all of womenkind if some prison guard is her better. The only verdict is vengeance, a vendetta, to kill villainous vermin and make him a bygone vexation.

As soon as Alexi saw the vampire guard, he turned around with a panicked expression. Damn it, this ironclad dragon guy even has monstrous speed too...?! He turned around to see a surging wall of fire directed right at him. There was no escape in this narrow passageway, no convenient left or right corner. It was obvious that he couldn't outrun the flames. His best chance of survival was...there was no best chance. The flames enveloped everything, as in everything. Even if he did miraculously outrun everything, what then? Could he somehow fight fire with bullets?

Here...he was going to die here?

He promised that girl that he would marry her once his duties as a royal guard were done..he promised her a bright future. He couldn't afford to die here. It was too early, too early...!

"No, no, NOOO!!!!!!" The royal guard screamed, and thrust his arms forward, as if he could somehow block the scorching destruction with them alone.

Something all over his body snapped. In this life-threatening situation, it desperately rushed to touch upon ancient blood. Somewhere in it was royal blood. Just a tiny bit, a tiny tiny bit, suffering and having almost completely dissolved into the blood of lesser vampires, but it was enough.

Mana suddenly rushed through the royal guard's arms, and throughout his entire body. A barrier formed instantaneously around him, and everything inside but his own body died up horrifically. The burning flames that should've burned him to a crisp faded away upon entering the barrier, quickly separating into carbon dioxide, which itself broke down to insignificant nothing. The rocks were also affected, breaking down as if by the passage of time, the air too as it grew less breathable. As if entropy within this barrier had been accelerated.

"Wh- wha...?"

In his slight confusion, he accidentally turned off the barrier.

"Wh... NOOOOOOOO-"

And Alexi's flames scorched him without mercy, tearing through his skin, flesh, blood, and bones. The royal guard who had just discovered his power over entropy as a distant member of the von Mira family was dead. When the flames would disappear, the former scientist would witness the weakened form that stone takes over millions of years.

-----------------------------

The woman guard cursed under her breath. This woman wasn't just a sadist, she was a feminist. What the guard should've done was attack her head-on...but to her surprise, the black woman let her live. Obeying her command and dropping her weapons, she quickly ran away for her cowardly, lowly, miserable life, never to forget the insult that some mentally-braindamaged human female gave her.

--------------------------

"Guys, we're going to start the countdown!" A scientist announced.

Within the throne room were twelve people in total. Six doctors and six scientists. There had been a seventh, the legendary Azami Yamada, who had led the team of scientists, but she had mysteriously slipped away. She probably had more important things to do than the extinction of all humanity though, being who she is, so nobody blamed her. The scientist who had just announced it (called Lareo) was bored. May as well count to pass the time, right?

"Seriously? You should take these things more seriously..." A fellow scientist said, frowning.

Unperturbed, Lareo took out a timer, which also had an extra needle to act as a compass. It was pretty convenient for him.

"Thirty, twenty-nine, twenty-eight, twenty-seven...~" Sighing, the fellow scientist followed, and gradually the other scientists and doctors began to join in as well... "Twenty! Nineteen! Seventeen! Sixteen!"[/o]

Like idiots unaware of their own fate, they began the countdown for the approximated awakening of Lord Elnaer.

-----------------------

John Alexander's foot touched the fifth floor, and his attention harshly turned to the gigantic door that led into the throne room. Here was where it ended, here was where the corrupted Vampire Lord would fall. Luckily, it seemed as though nobody had been foolish enough to follow him here. To be honest, he had expected someone to insist on accompanying him, but they were most likely too caught up in battle. It didn't matter. This was what he wanted, afterall.

It's time to finish this, bastard, he thought to himself as he walked forward, a red cape flowing behind him, as he wielded a golden sword that glimmered in the light of his own flames, flickering all over his body.

What he wanted was a fair one-on-one battle with the Vampire Lord that would determine the fate of all Lath. If he fell today, he would have no just reason to protest. The only reason he would ever lose this battle is if the gods themselves decided that humans were unwelcome in Lord Elnaer's planned new world...that was a disturbing thought.

Calmly yet seething with rage, carrying all the hopes and dreams of all the humans and of Lath's future on his shoulders, he continued onward. He had been nothing more than a hero, with nothing else, forever dedicating himself to peace. He had no existence outside of this. There had been a slight possible chance with Shanna but...that option was out of the question now.

The flames licking about his body flickered from orange, to yellow, to blue, radiating an immense heat that no ordinary human was capable of surviving at close range.

But then again...John Alexander wasn't an ordinary human, was he?

He turned to see the shadow avatar of Niasa von Mira, watching him. "You cannot stop this, sister of Elnaer." He told her with a stern tone, walking towards the large door leading into the throne room, taking his time to ready himself. "My comrade Lyon will come for your real body soon. If you want to live, you will relish your right as Lord of the Vampires, or else, you will face only death."

Azami, had been her name, famous she says maybe Niasa could ask her to be the royal scientist after this whole affair was done for since she didn't particularly think Kaname was returning. Azami walked right through her, and stalked down the hallway in a huff, what had upset her Niasa had no idea, but Niasa didn't have time to worry about it now, she was curious with what might be going on in Elnear's room. Azami's warning had chilled Niasa, and she wondered what could be happening in that room, what dreadful, nightmarish thing her brother could have come up with. There was only one way to find out. As Niasa was getting ready to move into the room, the leader of this human resistance nearly burnt her to a crisp as he walked up the stairs, and with a yelp she jumped back avoiding the flames.

Mr. Alexander, I will not give up my throne as Lord of the Vampires! Your puppet king will do no good for us what so ever, and I'm keeping that seat warm for somebody... important. Now Mr. Alexander to address your other point my brother is powerful beyond your wildest dreams, my brother was able to stand against an elf what chance do you have, but you are right in one notion, nothing I do right now will stop what happens tonight, it is up to Fate now. I could chose to stand by my brother, but that will do no good, and besides what do you think will happen when you kill me, in the absence of Elnear, and Alsa my two brothers I am recognized as the Lord of the Vampires. Kill me and you could very well start a vampire civil war, no I will not allow my people to be subjugated to your whims. With that Niasa bowed formally, the path is yours to take John Alexander you will now face my brother Lord of the Vampires. Niasa neglected to warn him Azami had done for her, but he was trying to kill her brother, and her, so why give him a warning that could very well remove a threat to vampire kind. Though if she was being totally honest with herself her brother was just as much a threat to vampire kind as the human was.

Niasa disolved the shadow avatar before John could make an attempt to attack her, and returned to her own body. She immediately turned to Aro, we should get moving Lyon will be coming for us any minute, and at the moment we can't stand against him. We need to get further into the castle, take me to the library I will give you instructions from there. Niasa got up and limped over to Aro, again hoping on his back so that he could carry her. Niasa knew that they couldn't keep running from Lyon, and Niasa knew in her heart that she really couldn't kill him she would have to find a way to solve this diplomatically. If she did in fact take the throne that would serve her well to try diplomacy before diving head first into battle.

Lyon frowned, annoyed at the new turn of events. Looking back to see that his students were doing fine in the fighting, he left towards the entrance to the castle, intent on hunting down the princess before she could get too far away. Walking inside, he focussed his magic on the floor, or actually the places where moisture had been displaced on the floor by a footstep. Since the princess and her guard had been the most recent ones to walk through here, the displacement he was searching for would be the strongest imprint left around on the floor, which would ease the difficulty slightly. Searching for signs like that is be difficult even for an experienced water mage, but nearly impossible to manage with most other magic abilities, but following the displacement from the footsteps would likely lead to his target, which was his aim anyway. Raising his head to check around him that there was no-one to attack him, he started to follow the direction of the footsteps.

"That's what I thought too when I first woke up." Luis said referring to Alsa's comment about him being dead. "Look it's a long story that I don't have time to tell. Just know that I'm alive and fully recovered." Luis then turned to Feredir. "You're looking better." Luis then began to look around for any people within cells, but sadly he couldn't find any. "This is a weird place be, I'm guessing you're using the distraction outside to infiltrate this castle and kill Elnaer." Luis turned to face both of them. "Smart plan, but you aren't the only ones doing it. That's the same reason I'm here, so if you guys need help, I'm happy to help. Just lead the way, cause i am lost..." Luis cracked a smile.

Adrian was alert instantly as the alarm bells rang; he was on his feet within seconds, his swords at his side. He knocked over the table next to him in his rush, spilling and smashing a glass of human blood, but managed to save the bottle it had come from, taking that with him as he flung open the door to his office. He rushed through the halls of the castle quickly, blood pumping throughout his body as he heard fighting outside. He grinned his maniacal smile and swallowed a mouthful of human blood, pushing past the occasional servant that got in his way.

He ran for many minutes, slowly going down, aiming to reach the bottom floor and join in the battle, when he stopped and sniffed the air. He could smell something. A lot of things. He smelt blood, death and despair; too strong to be that from outside. He smelt vampires, dead vampires, and he smelt fear. But he smelt something else, something he found intriguing. He smelt ruthlessness and violence and evil. And yet, it smelt human.

He turned the nearest corner, following the scent, and came upon and impressive sight. The walls of the halls were lined with bodies. Dead, vampire bodies, each one impaled with a different weapon. Some were royal guards, some were normal vampires, but each had the same look upon their face. A look he had seen a thousand times or more, when he had his way with his victims. Complete and utter terror, and hopelessness. They had seen death itself walk past them, and take them away. But Adrian had never known of anyone else who could produce a fear like that; even Elnaer didn't create that kind of fear - the fear he created was one of superior power, not of despair.

Increasingly intrigued, Adrian followed the path of bodies, seeing each one as fresher than the next. The smell of fear was growing around him, until soon he came upon a sight he found impressive. A giant of a woman, dark-skinned and muscled, with a female guard running from her, in Adrian's direction. Adrian gave her a cold glance as she ran past, his sword brushing past her face and removing a small clump of hair, which landed expertly on the flat side of the blade, terrifying the woman into pausing for a moment. "Flee, before you get in the way." He said, his concentration focussed mainly on the giant human in front of him.

"Oi, you!" Adrian said, twisting his sword so that the hair fell off and down to the ground. He grinned and lifted the bottle of human blood slowly to his lips, not taking his eyes off of the woman while he drank the rest of the blood, before throwing the empty bottle to her feet. "Tis a refreshing drink. You should try some at some time. In fact, you seem to have a lot of it." He mentioned, grinning widely as he pointed his sword forward, his fangs glistening in the dim light.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Feredir grinned as Luis appeared before them, as if the dead had come to life. "It is good to see you." Feredir said, shaking Luis' hand briefly before moving past him into a main hallway, the walls lined with paintings and candles. "Obviously the arrow wasn't as well aimed as we thought. Sorry for abandoning you." Feredir apologized, turning back to Luis and bowing.
"But, for now, we should be going." Feredir said, motioning to Alsa. "There is a war going on, and I sense growing tension in the air. Dark magick is gathering around the castle; Elnaer is up to something." Feredir explained, turning back to the hall and running off down it, not looking back to see if the other two were following him. It was quiet in the castle, and a sense of foreboding surrounded them.
Clarice still in her tantrum could not have noticed that her target was so close. She was lost in the sea of uncertainty and malice, but then it happened. As that loathsome coward of a woman was fleeing someone had put the fear of God into her once again. That terror, that bloodlust brought Clarice out of her trance and she turned to see...this stranger. Who was this stranger with his grey hair, clearly excellent crafted blades, deceptively young looks, and glistening vampire fangs. Her gaze met his gaze as he finished his bottle of mystery liquid there was nothing left as the bottle landed at her feet. She didn't have to pick it up to tell that it was blood most likely human blood but that thought does not phase Clarice for she has done so much worse. As this new man gave her some boast Clarice had decided to give up on the search for Adrian temporarily and kill this foolish man where he stood.
Funny...I didn't know your kind could make jokes she said looking him from the other end of the hall with her head twist back and forth like a boxer before the big fight. There's a pool of blood right there. Clarice points to the pool of blood left by the guards she cut in half. Why don't you get on your knees like a proper man should and drink up. At this moment she began to walk towards this mystery vampire still trying to size him up as it were. She wasn't finding any openings, she wasn't finding any hint of fear or uncertainty, in other words...this might take some effort. She opened a ripple and tossed away her mace and pulled out a pair of sabers getting ever closer to the one known as Adrian. You know I have to respect vampires...she said callously almost laughing...you all make a great pie. By the way that's a pun and you'll probably get it in your next life.
With those last words it would seem to the untrained eye that she disappeared, unfortunately for Clarice, her opponent had trained eyes. He would be able to see her acceleration and her seemingly flawless sword thrust that was aimed to pierce everything from his right eye to the back of his skull. Clearly someone was going for the insta kill. Clarice would look on as her body got past Adrian's sword and her sword was getting ever close to his simultaneous blood craving yet meticulously calculating pupil. She was confident in her success, but then as she was centimeters nay millimeters away from delivering the first and final blow when Adrian's head was no longer there. Surely she could see him move to dodge but the simple act of dodging should have been a miracle but wait there is more. Adrian couldn't just dodge that attack no why do that when you can counter-attack? Almost matching her speed was Adrian's katana going for the decapitation slash. Clarice once again not truly understanding what is happening in this situation but she was more than capable of thinking quickly and using her other sword to guard against that attack.
After the clash of blades the to warriors got some space between themselves. Not much just personal space about a meter at the most. They just walked in a circle sizing each other up some more. What he was thinking she couldn't but Clarice's face was just blatantly showing emotion. Disbelief, anticipation, bloodlust, and many more though mostly she was curious about this one. Magic? she simply lobbed at him which was clearly a question about how he lived through what just happened. His answer...didn't matter it had to have been a fluke no Vampire has that much skill. Time for more test she thought to herself as she prepared to enter the realm of the quicksword. Her shoulder twitched and once again it would look like her arm has disappeared more slashing of course. Like before it was blocked the sound of Adrian's katana against her saber would chime and resonate through the halls echoing malice causing nightmares as this was the warm-up of a fight between monsters. This chime would be repeated over and over as Clarice kept going at Adrian from different angels though what was really eerie was the facial expressions on both combatants. There were no smiles of sadism yet it was akin to watching the opening credits in the movie. There are no smiles because no one has gotten to the explosions yet.
During these going through the motion clashes a loose pebble fell from the ceiling. Why it did that could be a litany of reason but on e thing was for sure it fell directly in the middle of both combatants line of sight. Like synchronized swimmers they both thought this was an opportunity to strike and the both slashed across at each other and they both dodged said slashes...barely. They looked at each other once again. The classic slit opened on Adrian's cheek and Clarice gave a light scoff till she looked down and saw a small slit on the upper part of one her large voluptuous black bosom. Her breast had been stained by a man's blade, her eyes almost shrunk as if to hone in on this shame. And there it was she snapped again, she was molested or at least that is how she saw it. She lunged at the confident vampire but this time there would be no testing the fight was on now. She opened with a series of slashes each one getting more fierce than the next but it wasn't anything that Adrian couldn't handle. He would dodge she would slash a wall etc etc. When Adrian got her timing down he was able to go in for a swift counter attack and knowing her rhythm he was fully prepared to draw one of his other katanas and deliver a deciding blow. His katana was aimed at her abdomen and he was waiting for Clarice to block with both sabers knocking his katana downwards but that didn't happen. Clarice broke into a wicked smile as if the mouse trap was sprung and with that she dropped both swords much to Adrian's surprise and let the katana cut through her armor and graze her side. This gave her the opportunity to get inside Adrian's safe zone and while this clearly surprised Adrian it shouldn't have mattered physically a human female probably couldn't hurt him that much. That is where he was wrong, directly in front of him he would see one of the black ripples of Clarice's magic and a handle. Clarice grabbed that handle and directly slashed downward upon Adrian's chest with a dagger. Though it wasn't the deepest slash it was more than enough to draw blood. She followed up with a punch to this man's no open wound getting him to jump back a little bit.
She snickered as she stood up ignoring her own blood that was somewhat flowing from her side and began to stroke her chin with her hand covered in Adrian's blood. Interesting vampire, interesting she began to laugh almost as Adrian's blood was pretty much covering the lower half of her face. Naturally she licked and tasted some of it and it wasn't the most awful thing she had ever tasted. Needs flavor she said condescendingly though a small faint thought was growing in the back of her head. Mmmmm dem abs.
