I can't believe they nerfed this thing and still made it an Ultra. That's all of its potential down the drain.

Yeah... it's got tones worse. but, its still playable in the right water deck. Since Atlanteands and Colecelocanth decks swarm enough to justify this, particularly the latter. And at 2900, its still huge.

And its an ultra despite the nerf? O.o My word...

Its worse, but for some reason, this destroy effect seems slightly better. Due to it being useable to kill any size monster.

Seriously without the "Tribute 1 only if it's WATER" clause, it's no better than those guys. In fact, it is arguably worse.

Legendary Ocean only decreases Levels by 1. This would still be a Level 7 that requires 2 Tributes.

It's because it'd be damn awesome if it did. It's the main thing Daedalus had going for it over Neo Daedalus back before the errata that made Neo Daedalus a nomi.
