I'd be careful with this concept. FuFu was broken in design, and I've learned the hard way that tinkering with broken designs isn't a good thing...but given the fact that there are more of us on the topic instead of just 1 single person making the card, I suppose we could give it a go. So...are there any more specifics or is this pretty much what we have to go by?

Hmm, well lets see. Some possible targets (because they don't quite see play) if you're gonna make it for Xyzs...could be:

Our 4 infamous Rank 1 Xyzs
Perhaps some Rank 2 abuse, leaving out Gachi (somehow)
And...yeah, those should be the best targets. If we start making it for Ranks 3 and higher...things could get ugly.

Which is precisely why they should be added. Giving other cards usability or making them more useful is not a bad thing, it's when those cards will be abused like crazy in too much of a consistent manner that makes the game one-sided that marks the card as bad (or if it loops itself, other reasons, etc). Making Rank 1s more efficient without breaking them...is a decent goal tbh, and can potentially be incorporated in the card...so long as Synchros aren't involved as they have....a very funny way of abusing level 1s.

Kinda, it'd kinda be like Scrap Iron Scarecrow in that it gets set again after activation.

Something like this: Activate when your opponent activates a Trap Card: (Insert cost here): Negate the effect and destroy it. Then this card gains the condition and effect of that card and set it.

Okay fair point. So Rank 1 XYZ "FuFu" is what we have so far. Maybe the card could even give a boost to whatever you XYZ into in some fashion? I'm sure it wouldn't break Rank 1's xP

Alright then. Well if it's going to be a FuFu esque card, how about making it a Continuous Spell...except WITH a bit of protection so that it isn't Heavied/MSTed so easily while it sets up it's relatively slow effect. 1 thing for sure...we may want to only have 1 copy face-up on the field at any given time, so

"Only 1 "[insert card name here]" can be face-up on your side of the field."

That gives the opponent a chance at playing the card too.

"Reveal 1 Rank 1 XYZ Monster in your Extra Deck and banish, from your Main Deck, the appropriate XYZ Materials listed on that card. During your 2nd Standby Phase after this card's activation, Special Summon 1 of that XYZ Monster with 3 'Signal Counters' on it. Each 'Signal Counter' is treated as an XYZ Material. When this card leaves the field, destroy that target. When that target is destroyed, send this card to the Graveyard. Once per turn, you can send 1 Level 2 or lower Monster from your hand to the Graveyard. Until your opponent's next End Phase, this card cannot be destroyed by card effects. Only 1 "Tiragon's Signal" can be face-up on your side of the field."

There's version 1 anyway.Let's see how we can modify it.

Looks like a definite Machine-type to me. My inner-fanboy cries for "Machina" but I'm not so sure. Maybe a beatstick similar to Acid Golem? Low rank + drawback.

For the Xyz FuFu card, it looks good so far, although I would change the shield effect to "until your opponent's end phase" because the most common spell/trap destroyers are typically activated during their turn. As for my skeleton, I absolutely agree that is is machine-type. However, I imagined it to be a rank 5 or 6 Xyz as D.A. pointed out. But if your idea produces a pretty good card, then, well, your idea produces a pretty good card!

For the Xyz FuFu card, why would we make it Continuous and give it protection when we could simply make it a Normal Spell? I am not concerned about a good Rank 1 ever appearing. Like, even as a Normal Spell without a two-turn delay, I'm not sure if Piper Control would play, because that deck doesn't want to banish cards.

For the Counter Trap, if you want a card that copies the negated card, then probably the best bet would be:

[b]"When your opponent would activate a Trap Card: (cost here); Negate the activation and, if you do, Set that card in one of your Spell/Trap Card Zones."[/b]

Based on the art, I would be inclined to make the cost "Tribute 1 Spellcaster-Type monster".

Hmm... good point... This new edition would crank out gachi gachis like crazy as well as mill level 2 monsters which can be integrated into powerful combos, such as milling 2 Quillbolts and then summoning a tuner monster. I just thought of something! This card (its edition before rank 2 effect) would make skull servants remotely competitive! Think about it! You send 1 skull servant and 1 king and/or 2 skull servants, and, if a king is in your graveyard, you can bring it back with zombie master, then Xyz Tiragon and use its effect to make king attack directly for massive damage! OR, if you already have a king on the field, send 2 skull servants to pump up its Atk by 2000 and use aforementioned tiragon combo. Would this possibly become semi'd because of this?

Well...this card would certainly be a start to improving that particular deck type. I don't think it would ever take a hit from it though.
