Only deck I have ever seen use this and do well was Monarchs, back when Frog Monarch was just starting. And not Swap Frog Monarch. Old-fashoned Frog Monarch.
[/quote]Disaster Dragon.

This card was good when MST wasn't blowing up EVERYTHING. And when Premature Burial wasn't banned.

Y'know, there's a reason Mirror Force went from 1 to 2...
With that being said, you can render this card just as neutral.

I've used this under slower circumstances than nowaday's format, and it's a good card.
If your opponent had a set backrow in preparation a certain move of yours that never came, they will most likely want to attack you next turn.
or if your opponent uses Field Spell Cards, or is one of those old-school decks that rely on having face-up spell/traps, this can be handy.

Of course, even if it is argued that MST, Night Beam, and that sort of one for one removal is balanced, having too much of it (like the game has now) hurts the use of many cards like this one.... or even the abundant archetype-specific removal, which is often pluses and not +0.

Btw, not even Heavy Storm is causing too much of an impact here so, Malevolent Catastrophe has less chances to do so.

Who cares if one destroys monsters, and the other destroys spells/traps? Comparing this to Torrential Tribute, now THAT'S nothing alike.
