Realistic Cards Comments & Suggestions - How can we make our section better?

What if how many times each of us gave a good review was counted up and kept track of in a Leaderboard-like thing, except it doesn't matter who comes first. There can be just a predetermined number of reviews you have to reach and when you do, you get a something like points or maybe a privilege like temporary stickies or for those with less than 5000 posts, the privilege of having a profile background?

Perhaps some criteria... maybe as follows:

A good review will:

1. Identify a problem (if any) with the card and describe why it is bad, perhaps a scenario if applicable.

2. Suggest a proper fix for the card.

3. Give a rating and an explanation for each point deducted.

Ratings are awful and, as far as I'm concerned, are akin to spam. If the rest of the post isn't, they're... passable, but still not preferable.

Anyways that basically says "post correctly, get rewarded". That's not rewarding good reviews, it's no better than the current Advanced Clause.

The point of the rating was that you list each thing you have to say about the card and what makes it good or bad.
But I suppose simply a if you address almost every point about what is wrong with a card and how to change and fix it, it could work...

Well, then... before criteria for a good review we need criteria for good card and should a review address all the points on that, then it could be considered a good review? Having criteria like that would also allow people to self-review.

Criteria for a good card, to start the list off:
- Not abusable in some way.
- Doesn't give a plus without balancing it in some way.
- Not outclassed or too similar by a preexisting card, and to fix, make it's effect different so to have a different role or use.
- Follows rules of good design?
- Has a productive purpose(s)

Perhaps a new thread specifically for all the criteria to be listed.

I was PMing koyo about this, but then I thought it better to bring it up here

If there are tournament legal DIVINE attribute cards, why isn't DIVINE attribute considered realistic enough to be allowed here? I think that that rule needs to be removed/amended in light of the release of legal DIVINE attribute cards.

For those who don't know about the new legal DIVINE monsters:

Because with the exceptions of the Ra, Obelisk, Slifer, and Horakhty, it is NOT Tournament Legal. Those are tourney legal because of Nostalgia. Other Divine cards have been released IRL since Obelisk, if not Ra, but their Attributes were changed for IRL. Loki, Odin, and Thor are now Dark, Light, and Earth respectively.

So no, it will not be removed, because making a Divine monster is NOT realistic in any sense.

@ black:

edit: in ever other case (and what should be every case), doesn't komani define what's realistic when they make cards?

Its realistc because real legal cards have it.

as for your norse comparision: that's like saying "if at least 1 card from the anime and manga had X, but in the real game that card doesn't have X, no members can have X in their cards despite their existing tournament legal cards with X". Do you have any idea how many double standards that is if you were to check every card in the game?

@ backround we already have effective rules for broken cards, regardless of attribute. I should know.

bottom line:

If its on at least 1 tournament legal (or at least traditional format legal) card, we should be able to do it too!

So, basically, they made 4 exceptions to a rule, and that means everyone else can do it?

Your entire argument is based on EXCEPTIONS existing. No, Divine is not realistic. No, it won't happen. You don't have an argument because the very BASE of your argument is exceptions to the rule, when the existence of the rule has been clearly shown.

No. The end. Drop it.

Snatch Steal, I think you're missing the point. The only reason Konami ever created Divine type/attribute is for the sake of nostalgia. Ever since making those *3* cards almost half a decade ago, they have not touched on it since. This shows that they're not interested in touching on Divine type/attribute any more. Accordingly, neither should we.

I won't back down when faced with bad logic! My argument is based on cards exsting not your hypothetical rule. Did konami send you the rule that you speak of in writing? If not, how do know its a rule that everyone has to follow? and not a pattern? Your argument is based on a rule that has not been proven. Also by your logic, we can't make delta accel synchros, because they are "reserved" as well, for 5d's characters in this case and there won't be any more of them.

There is a simple fact that there are legal divine cards, get that through your head!

they havn't touched monster zone effects (e.g. rampaging rhynos) since cyber dark impact, and we can use those!

Your argument has bared 0 fruit. You're making illogical assumptions and then calling everyone else's logic bad. You're not offering anything to the convo, just making constant connectons that don't exist.

They've proven that Divine is reserved for the 3 Gods and Horakhty were the only ones to get that. That's it. It's not "realistic" to make Divine cards. If you make one, it will be locked and you will be warned.

Also, this thread was suppsoed to be unpinned and locked ages ago, so I'll do that now.
