Fusion X. Denver
Yeah No No, not really. I've loved Spider-Man ever since I played the Spider-Man 2 game at my friend's house. Then I saw the movies. Then I went out and bought volumes and volumes of his stuff, including Ultimate Spider-Man. If I ever made a Top 5 Characters of All Time and from Everything list, there's no question he'd be on there. He's taught me what responsibility means and that sometimes, we have to act on continence, no matter how much it sucks doing it. Sure people rag on him because he doubts himself and worries a lot, but f*ck you people, I worry and second-guess myself a lot too, are you going to tell me I suck for having human concerns? He may not be the strongest. He may not be the most confident. He may not even be funniest now that there's Deadpool. But he will always be Number 1 to me. You guys can have your Batman, Iron Man, or whatever other heroes are cool. Spider-Man's all I'll ever need.
Thar
Casting aside Spiderman 3, I actually love the guy. So yeah, f*ck you or... whatever.
Legend Zero
I'm glad you guys actually stayed on topic. This is a reminder, topics with only "discuss" are not aloud. This will be the only exception since you guys are so well behaved. =] OT: I'm not a major fan of the series/movies/character, but he is a classic and the series that first introduced me to Captain America. Northern Sage
He is the least memorable of the big 3, because he isn't that creative and he isn't a superhuman. That in turn leaves him with less moral ambiguity on what he should actually do with his powers due to their relative simplicity, though.
STVB
i can see the hate towards the new spiderman in that new movie because i heard it sucks but i dont see how spiderman can be hated in general, youre telling me a guy with spider power powers that shoots webs and can climb walls and has a badass costume sucks? i mean sure, hes not the best, and he is overrated, but he doesnt suck
TTR~
Are you... Are you serious? Spider-Man was the first hero to actually identify with people because he had actual, normal problems. Everyone loves Spider-Man. He has a quick wit and is intelligent. Loads of people look up to him.
Thar
You know what I love? The fact that the host of this thread doesn't explain AT ALL why he or she hates Spiderman. Unless, of course, the approach was merely to get replies.
FTW (For The Wynn)
ITT: People go at it because of a difference of opinions. Personally, I like the wall crawler. Aside from him being the poster child of Marvel, he's probably their biggest hero to cover morality issues.
The Amazing Avian
i can see the hate towards the new spiderman in that new movie because i heard it sucks
The movie is okay, but the way he was portrayed was better than the other Spider Man movies. His mouth is supposed to be his best asset to his fighting because of his constant taunts and sarcastic comments. Now, Spidey in general is cool. Witty genius with normal person issues. What's not to like?

Also, his powers aren't that simple. At the very least they are hell of a lot more complicated than Cap's or Ironman's. So, where are you going with this. Did you know that f he's actually hanging to a wall you can't pry him from the wall? All you can do is pry the wall that isn't touching him. Pretty clear, I love the witty smack talking spiderman as long as I have lived.
✪RION
He's a genius and the complex mutagenic enzymes in the spider's blood that were transferred at the time of the bite triggered numerous body-wide mutagenic changes within him, granting him superhuman strength, speed, toughened flesh, and numerous arachnid-like abilities. On top of that, you throw in a little everyday life drama that can happen to anybody making him relatable to readers/moviegoers. So...what's so "suck" about him?
Alpakha
^Cuz that is completely relevant . The movies gets his powers wrong (sorta). He builds the web shooters, they don't come out of him. He doesn't have small spines on his finger, he has the power to increase the gravity between his fingers and the wall (or whatever he's climbing). Also, he wise cracks... a lot. Not as much a Deadpool, but still. So yeah... he doesn't suck.

Just Crouton
Yes, he does suck...at least until he makes a deal with Mephisto to retcon my opinion that he sucks. Iron Man is better. He's a superhero to admire. Rich, successful, lots of women, even that one that shot him. Also, dat Modular and Bleeding Edge armors.
Cute Rotten Yoshika
iron man would be completely unrelatable if he werent an alcoholic, and even that isnt a relatable problem for a lot of people. i guess hes "cooler" but that doesnt mean much. You guys can have your Batman, Iron Man, or whatever other heroes are cool. Spider-Man's all I'll ever need.
This isn't the date thread, but damn it if that wasn't an awesome response. As much as I love Batman, I have to give the edge to Spider-Man. I've loved Spider-Man ever since I saw the 90's cartoon, and I loved the Raimi films. I only finally saw Spider-Man 3 in its entirety a couple years ago, but The Amazing Spider-Man is my favorite out of all the films. If my avatar wasn't any indication, my favorite Spider-Man villain is Carnage. Some people may find it generic, but his malevolent nature is exactly why he's my favorite. The sheer terror of the character is what I like, even if people think the character is symptomatic of traits from the 90's. I don't remember much of Spider-Man Unlimited, but I did love in the pilot when Spider-Man punches through Carnage's chest, and then Carnage puts his head through the hole that was left, and fixes his head. Basically, it's kind of like what the Destroyer did in the Thor movie. The success of Spider-Man is a double-edged sword, however. Because there's a certain image of the character that has always been recurring in popular media, Marvel editorial places restrictions on the writers, the most infamous being the stupidity that is One More Day because Joe Quesada, Tom Brevoort, and Stephen Wacker all suffered varying degrees of butthurt when Peter and Mary Jane got married, and Dan Slott has dedicated his run to fixing some of the problems that story introduced while trolling the audience by ruining hopes that the rest will get better. Hey, I thought Alfred Molina was an awesome Doctor Octopus, and making your stories all lead into a big finish is fine, but until One More Day is fixed, there is no way I'm going to accept that any "major status quo changes" are going to last longer than two years. LeguBrit
WOOO SPIDERMAN WOOO I have to say, I am a massive Spider-Man and Batman fanatic. I have all the DVDs from both, and I don't know which is better. Which is why I was sad that they had a Death Battle . In all seriousness though, Spider-Man is awesome. Nuff said.
