Monster Reborn

Recommended Posts

Reborn's problem is that...

1) It's costless
2) It's a Spell, meaning instant use
3) It has no restrictions on what it can bring back.
4) It can hit the opponent's Grave, too.

Other cards like Call of the Haunted only work on your Grave, is a Trap, bonds to the monster it's reviving, and SSes in ATK position. Much slower, much fairer. Reborn has none of those weaknesses.

Even Premature is potentially more fair, since it has a cost, only works on your Grave, SSes in ATK position, and bonds to the monster. Of course, Premature has a loophole regarding its method of leaving the Field and the absurd recyclability it has with Hidden Armory.

Pretty much, this is the main problem with it.
While this could be situational, the Opponent could literally have something game-winning that you could easily Reborn to your side, and win just because of that.
Aside from that scenario, its actually not THAT problematic.
I mean, assuming the stuff you revive is completely harmless.

Or you could just stop making yourself look stupid by not comparing Reborn with BLS, cards which are on completely different power levels.

Reborn should only be in your graveyard. I think it is rigged if you can reborn an enemy monster too :) Just my opinion.

The way you put that can be misinterpreted. I think you mean "Reborn should only be allowed to summon from your own grave. It's unfair if it can summon from your opponent's grave too."

Anyway, I like this card @ 1 tbh. There are times when it leads to 1 card victory, but that usually depends on luck. Water of Life would make a great replacement though.

The reason this card can target the opponent's Graveyard is that Yugi needed a way to beat Ghost Kaiba.
So whenever you play this card, thank a gay clown.

Actually, this was the original plot device of the very first canon duel in Yu-Gi-Oh!, (the manga, mind you) reviving the BEWD that was destroyed due to Kaiba not owning the card.
So yeah, thank theft.
