Proto
Any particular reason why this is in the Plasma Circle deck?

Toffee.
Gotta love cards like cyber dragonMy guess is This guy's reasoning, combined with the fact Xyzs are so commonly seen on the field that it basically removes this cards ever-so-slightly situationalness, and lets you play a Cyber Dragon from your Hand whenever you feel like it.....Or something like that. ihop
But why not run Cyber Dragon, which is at least a beater as well?
ekko1990
Because you can summon as many of them as you have in your hand without needing to worry about having a monster on your side of the field.
The Warden
From what I remember, it was a mistake. The card that's in Perfect Circle Plasma was Thrasher, not Slasher.
Thomas★Zero
Still with this card it can be atleast summoned while the owner has an Xyz which can lead to a rank 5 Xyz if you have 2 at the same time.
Aerion Brightflame
I'm fairly sure the confusing comes from the OCG name... Because Thrasher was Slasher in the OCG. And I think Vice Versa as well. But yeah, it's Bad. Like most Photons sadly. It's aim was the get out GEPD... but if you are doing that with anything but Tokens, then things are going badly. I wonder if it could work in some random creature swap Rank 5 deck, using Volca to burn for game after some Golem swap burning.
evilfusion
I was always amused by this being called "Slasher", but Photon Slasher was Photon Thrasher's OCG name. The OCG name for this card was "Photon Slayer". Card is nice, but has issues comparable to Cyber Dragon. Cyber Dragon doesn't require Xyz, but you must have no monsters, and your opponent must have one or more. If you have multiple Cyber Dragons, you can't Summon them all unless your first is negated/destroyed. This card requires an Xyz on the Field, fortunately on either side. It's less reliant on your opponent, but dead-draws when there isn't an Xyz out. In exchange, you can Summon multiples, and it can combo with Galaxy Expedition. Whereas Cyber is a beater, Slasher must be SSed in DEF, making its 2100 ATK less important and useful. Cyber Dragon is better outside of dedicated Decks, and dedicated Decks may be trying too hard. The Katakana used in Thrasher's oCG name can be interpreted as either "Thrasher" or "slasher", and peope just assumed fthe atter to be true. It even managed to confuse the translators of the manga (though their tranlation sucks, ask "Killer Frilled Shark"). This thing's TCG name was probably to represent the smilarity between the two. Sadly, Thrasher outclasses this by a mile.
