Shame this card is awful because you have to Rank-Up Giantrainer (and RUM isn't searchable), but I think it's a cool card because of the "This card cannot be targeted by card effects." clause, and if you somehow got this out, most likely it's pretty much there for the long haul. (Dark Hole isn't being mained this format)

Actually, you could always Rank-Up Divine Knight Felgrand with Barian's Force for this. Though with Barian's Force still being searchable (I really expected Number Hunters to have some kind of RUM searcher due to all the CXyz), it's probably still more effort than it's worth. Which is a shame.

If Neo Tachyon is worthwhile, then this thing becomes usable.

 

As it stands, without a searcher there is no point teching RUM into a Rank 8 deck for only one monster. Even if the most can use arguably the best 2 material Rank 8 for it's conditions.

 

Otherwise, it's actually pretty decent this format. Save for Fate all removal commonly used this format targets, which makes this great for one of the same reasons as Fortune Tune. Except on a much bigger body.

We live in an age where the Extra Deck is tight and we need all the space we can. I even find myself wondering if going into Rank 8's is worth it, let alone RUMing it into this. It is a real shame though, cause I really do like this card

I think you missed an extra 0 on the burn damage, Konami.

 

Even then, it probably still wouldn't be good.

I will use Giantrainer, I know that. So maybe I'll end up using this too.

 

I  may even feel trolly and use Coelacanth+Lemuria.

Giantrainer is better, because it has pretty much the same effect, but can do it 3 times a turn and doesn't need to be Ranked-Up, while this is only once per turn. Granted, 3800 untargetable is awesome, and it only needs an Xyz attached, not Giantrainer specifically.

 

I'm more surprised that Rank-Up Magic in some form wasn't in Number Hunters, because the CXyz need to use Barian's Force, which is an ultra in Tachyon Galaxy.

I can see why the burn isn't for the ATK of the drawn monster, but half the ATK would have been fine. At least you still get a Battle Phase. Odds are though I'd be ranking up a used-up Felgrand - 1000 more ATK and targeting immunity effectively for free (as the draw replaces RUM) is good. What we need is a RUM searcher, or for Chaos Field printed and able to Rank Up anything.
