BujinYamato-JOTL-EN-OP.png

Beast-Warrior/Effect

Once per turn, during your End Phase: You can add 1 "Bujin" monster from your Deck to your hand, then send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard. You can only control 1 "Bujin Yamato".

1800/200

I'm not surprised that it got bumped to Ultra (I was expecting it to happen) as we know it is the centrepiece of the deck even though we've established that it is bad design. I can see pre-release prices for this card go for around $30 a piece (Then around $20-$25 afterwards)

I still don't see how it is bad design. It needs a deck to actually play, where cards with bad design just need themselves to win.

A card that does too much isn't exactly the pinnacle of good design.

I'm expecting it to peak at $25 and drop to like $17. Could be wrong though and Bujin could get some serious overhyping.

But that's the whole point of the Deck, it's what it revolves around. If there's a card that's broken, then it's Habakiri, and Susano.

That doesn't make him good design. A once-per-turn RotA for nothing is not good design, no matter what you say, especially when the "drawback" benefits you more than it hinders.

And Susano'o is not even that good, it's just an option.

Attacks everything on the field in a Deck that has a Honest and adds a card to the hand or sends it? At least you have to give up the a card, so you can't just keep a ton of cards in the hand, so in case you want another Susano, you need to send something else. Yamato for sure isn't perfect design, but Bujin decks can die really easily if they don't have him to actually play, which is unfortunate that cards like Tenki is a thing, to make it more playable. You can probably discuss this with me forever, since I'm never gonna say that it is bad design (at least not with the current Bujin cards), so let's just stop for now.

I'll disregard Yamato, but I want to continue talking about why you think Susano'o is "better."

Susano'o has it's merits, that is true. Being able to use any 2 Bujin is nice when you don't have the opportunity to get Yamato and being able to pitch or grab anything is a good feature. The "attack everything" thing is also incredibly nice. However, does this make him broken as you stated he was? Well, let's see. For one, you will need to actually keep a Bujin on the board in order to use Susano'o. This is incredibly unlikely as none of them are actually good on the field par Yamato and even then.. Why are you using Yamato, the heart of the deck, for Susano'o outside of the rare cases of swinging for game? You may make the argument of Rise of the Bujin, but even then you need a Bujin banished to actually use it. This would imply that you had Yamato and Yamato died somehow. You could Gold Sarc Turbo with Rise, but that doesn't seem optimal.

Sussano is basically just the decks Neo Galaxy. You make it as a last resort, or to show off.

Though there is a Black Garden OTK varient using him.

OT: The TCG should hopefully get interesting with this out when it does come out.

I mean, it's been really dissapointing in what decks have been doing what in the events. I knew it would be a lot of the same, just after seeing OCG results I expected more.

I get the feeling Sussano will be a secret. Even though it's not needed. Though already I hate the TCG name for it. Even if it is in theme.

Black Garden seems interesting, but not very usable since Bujin can't really Summon a lot of guys at once (unless you use Rise, but that will only count as 1 Summon, so eh). I build a Ojama one using the piercing guy which can work but is still pretty inconsistent.

They should both be Ultra like with Bear/Tiger King.

I'm not awear of the specifics, but it's more the fact your opponents stuff gets halved, you sack garden to bring back this, then swing for massive numbers.

Or hell, even just NS Yamato, then play garden, and save the need for Hikabari.

It's a worse build, but it's a lot more aggresive.

Sounds interesting. I might try it out, and yeah, Habakiri does save it, I don't know why I didn't think of that.

No. Optional effects in the End Phase beat Veiler.

I was pretty sure somebody told me that it's not possible to beat Veiler in the End Phase unless the opponnet let you use them, but maybe I got something confused. Well, if it can, that's kinda silly, but at the same time, would be less broken if it wasn't in the End Phase anyway? Then you could easily use their effects, unlike the way it's made where you kinda have to wait a bit.

It's less broken that it's in the End Phase, but being in the End Phase definitely has it's merits
