Yankee
Remember when General used to have 2 pages of threads that were all new? Pepperidge Farm does. Seriously though, what happened? I'd be more active here if not for there just being less and less reason to be now...
Northern Sage
Alright, look, I am not trying to force you to try to do something to liven up the forum again. Not anymore, at least. BUT, these stupid threads serve no purpose. They literally start once an old member decides to complain about how much better the past YCM was and we end up saying the same thing that doesn't help anything, and nothing is done, so why even bother? hexcalibrate
this website has been around for so long, it's pretty much covered everything that we talk about that can be described as "general"
Toffee.
As far as I can remember, Saturdays have always been slow.At least, for YCM.

So I'll take it that you're the new big voice person. That's adorable. In any case, I'm not saying I miss the old YCM ect. I just noticed that threads from a week ago ect can stay on the front page now. Not something I'm used to seeing.
Airride
I can assume a lot of what made general popular has been given its own sections nowadays, and a lot of people that used to frequent it are less active because of more specialized sections that they prefer. Admiral Tim
So I'll take it that you're the new big voice person. That's adorable. In any case, I'm not saying I miss the old YCM ect. I just noticed that threads from a week ago ect can stay on the front page now. Not something I'm used to seeing. But we do miss the old YCM. I see nothing wrong of reminiscing of days past? Yu-Gi-Oh is dying so YCM is dying, simple truth. Anyone who hasn't experienced at least 3 years of the forums can't relate to the "golden" days of YCM. Where spammers were the biggest problem. Now I wouldn't mind some spammy noobs. Just to give a little life to the forum. I'm not bitching about the state of the site I'm just saying Its a hollow shell of what it used to be. Sooner or later the shell's gonna crack and cave in. And everything will come crashing down.
Legend Zero
Yu-Gi-Oh is dying so YCM is dying, simple truth.Except yugioh is setting record attendance numbers and making more money than ever?I never want to post a news thread here, because most of the news is so depressing. Excluding video game and movie related things.

Now YCM is slightly falling behind with the dated card maker.
Tentacruel
The status bar happened. Seriously. Before, you had to post a thread and post in it to actually talk to people. That's all in status updates now. Also everyone left and new people aren't joining.

But no new members are coming in to fill their shoes anymore.
Grunt Issun
Bull. People ARE coming in. Lots of the time. It's just that most of them are either grammatically inept, or not experienced card makers, the latter of which causes people to belittle and insult their skills, despite the fact that they're new, so they get fed up and stop doing anything. Also, I've been here for at least three years, and I can safely say that YCM wasn't any better in its so called golden days. It just had more members. Once a hellhole, always a hellhole. Admiral Tim
But nobody's saying it got worse. In fact I'd say it's gotten better, but we don't want better, we want a large crowd. It's better in terms of a "Utopia" forum. Less spam, less noobs etc. But in this utopia environment it gets rather boring with no drama. A little drama once in a while is good. Bull. People ARE coming in. Lots of the time. It's just that most of them are either grammatically inept, or not experienced card makers, the latter of which causes people to belittle and insult their skills, despite the fact that they're new, so they get fed up and stop doing anything. As far as I recall there have always been noobs that run away. The problem is there are no noobs that stick around. Your opinion is your opinion but I attribute the large amount of activity to be a large part of YCM's "golden days".

Your opinion is your opinion but I attribute the large amount of activity to be a large part of YCM's "golden days". I was extremely "nooby", as you put it, once. I looked back at my past topics in General alone and they were absolutely terrible. The newbies (a term which I prefer over noob) run away because you scare them away with elitist attitudes rather than letting them trial & error to success. Nathanael D. Striker
If certain bans hadn't taken place the activity would have only been on an upward curve but nooooo. And what bans are you referring to that have severely impacted the activity of YCM, hmm? Really, I'm curious as to what you meant. OT: TBH, I'm getting tired of seeing this kind of topic. It's extremely sad to see it coming from a mod mainly since that simply gives the impression that YCM is in a hopeless situation when that isn't the case. It's even sadder when it is a mod who I haven't seen around at all in a while that is complaining. Really, we need to get off our a**** and do something instead of complaining. *sighs* The main reason I think that people always refer to the "golden age" of YCM is because people actually fucking did something. What YCM needs is people that can make a difference on this forum and not people that sit on their fucking a**** and complain with threads like this. Can I get an amen? 'tyleR
YCM is not dead, you all are just dumb as fuck. I see 42 members, some 3 or 4 hidden, and some 400 guests online at the time of me posting this. As far as I know, the definition of dead is lifeless. To me a dead, or lifeless, forum would have 0 members, 0 guests, and 0 hidden online. But you know, you niggas can come up with any definition you want for these terms. Just saying, like I've said some 20 times before, the site is not dead.
~ P O L A R I S ~
The permabans of OMGAKITTY (the funniest member), J-Max (the kindest member), ragnarok1945 (the member with the most posts), and Crab Helmet (the smartest member) were massive blows to the site's activity because they not only had the immediate impact of removing prolific and thought-provoking members but also cut off everything they embodied that helped stimulate others and shape YCM's atmosphere. Kazooie
ragnarok1945 (the member with the most posts) Not gonna comment on the rest, but this is shitty logic. Rag was a detriment to the site entirely. His posts had NO quality, and I would rather have lower quantity then lower the quality of YCM by promoting the existence someone like RAG. Almost ALL of his posts were absolutely HORRID. He almost ruined a generation of card makers with his posts. He flooded the CC section with worthless posts that only had value to unsuspecting newbies.
