Red Dragon Archfiend

I was playing my Archfiend deck against one of my friends in a tournament and he was playing Ghostricks. One turn he was forced to summon Shyneet for a reason I don't remember, and that's when I saw an opening to drop this guy. Unlucky for me, he ended up flipping it face-down, but I flipped it back up on the following turn and attacked Shyneet to blow up 3 of his monsters.

Another duel I managed to do the same for another reason I don't remember, and the game was finished when he was down to no cards in hand and with a Kyonshee, a Prohibition blocking Archfiend Heiress, and a wasted Swords of Concealing Darkness. I attacked into his face-down Kyonshee and RDA destroyed it with his effect after flipping, thus making it so he had 0 monsters and it could not activate its effect.

It's really a gamble against Ghostricks because they can negate your attacks and force this guy to blow up your own monsters, and if their field spell is out you won't get to trigger it. We did get to see this guy used at Worlds, which was pretty cool. Blowing up entire field setups because everyone put their monsters in defense.

If you're wondering, I summon him using Masked Chameleon and Archfiend Calvary.

It was relevant because it stripped Dracossack, if they left 2 out, knocked Redox down without using a Cossack/Big Eye, as other random uses depending on situations that happen (See: Guy SJing his Tiras to stop Hope for Escape shenanigans).

Also remember that he who made Big Eye first in a dragon mirror tended to lose.

At worst, it's a 3K that requires thought to play. At best it's a nuke that opens the opponent up.

It's certainly not a bad card, especially with his Jeweled self not even in the TCG.

The ATK alone makes him pretty respectable as is.

He is one of the best Synchros out there in terms of matching it's flavor. He is a demon, willing to kill anyone even his companions if they don't show a ruthless and offensive attitude.

He is a casual staple for when you play defense-heavy decks. Or even if you don't, Swords of Concealing Light are always a fun choice.

Fun thing= Splash a Level Eater in a deck. So when you have Red Dragon out you can use it, then proceed to Chameleon > Veiler > Scarred Nova for fun.

Sadly, Chameleon can't be normal summoned if you have a level 5+ monster, so you would have to flip Red Dragon first, or manually play the two cards. Plus Chameleon's effect's restrictions make it much much situational than it already is.

It works with Debris, though.

Eater and Veiler in grave, Debris in hand, RDA on field.

Debris revives Veiler, eater noms on RDA, tune Veiler and Eater for Formula, revive Eater again, 4+6+2=12.

Sadly, Red Nova is still really freaking mediocre, albeit hilarious.
