Anti-Spell Fragrance

Recommended Posts

There's no need for an errata, given that Pendulum cards are not treated as a Spell Card of any kind. If anything, a ruling that mentions that it doesn't affect Pendulums since they are not Spells etc.

Wrong. In order to place a Pendulum Monster in a Pendulum Zone, you must activate the Pendulum Monster from your hand as a Spell Card. It is considered a Spell Card from the moment you activate it from your hand until the moment it is removed from the field.

Q: If the effect of Anti-Spell Fragrance is being applied, can Pendulum Monsters be activated as Spell Cards in the Pendulum Zones?
Also, while you control 2 Pendulum Monsters in your Pendulum Zones, if Anti-Spell Fragrance is activated, can you perform a Pendulum Summon?
A: If the effect of Anti-Spell Fragrance is being applied, Pendulum Monsters cannot be activated as Spell Cards in the Pendulum Zones.
Also, while you control 2 Pendulum Monsters in your Pendulum Zones, if Anti-Spell Fragrance is activated, you can perform a Pendulum Summon normally.

So... you can still summon, but you can't do the setup? Which means this is a viable side-deck card nonetheless... I have like 18 of these in a box somewhere. Maybe I can trade them out to friends with this new mechanic...

Do it before they ban it.

Konami will go New Age ham all over this -- they can't let their profits decline

Pendulums are pretty fragile at the moment anyway, I imagine as better ones come out it'll be even less of an issue. Alternatively, Pendulum decks start siding Trap Eater Dust Tornado.
