ZeRainbowDash
Ok so these are 2 things that ae blowing my mind. Supposedly, the person who goes first does not draw. Secondly, both players can have a field spell active at the same time. Thoughts?
Blake
We learned this 2 months ago. There's even been 2 separate topics on it thus far. It's OCG only atm, but it's still ancient new.
ZeRainbowDash
I knew of the double Field spell, but I didn't know about not drawing on the first turn. No more first turn advantage. Now it's all second turn advantage. Also, I usually don't hover in this section, so I didn't know of the topics.
D.A._Sakuyamon
I'v only been playing with artifacts recently but so far going first hasn't been a big issue with that rule.
Bringerofcake
On a more relevant note, when are these rules going to take effect? Is it when SD14 hits?
Sleepy
On a more relevant note, when are these rules going to take effect? Is it when SD14 hits? Last time I heard, it wasn't confirmed if those rules would even come to TCG at all. Depending on the results during those few months we had to observe OCG, TCG would probably decide if they wanna adopt it or not. I've seen some people argue that it is not a good change, or at least not the best they could have done, regarding taking away some of the advantages of going first that pretty much always out-weight going second. Then again, those people that say so don't really suggest any alternatives and so at least it's being tested I suppose. Better than doing nothing. Just like the Arc V's preachings "You'll get nowhere if you just freeze yourself in fear. Get moving" as part of Pendulum philosophy I wonder if there's been any news on that which I might have missed. Konami will make the announcement big enough by the time the Starter Deck comes if they do decide on it.
Toffee.
Double Fields would be pretty silly.Orichalcos would be even more obnoxious... Heh.
Synchronized
Going first sucks under this rule imo
Toffee.
Going first sucks under this rule imo'Cept you are given so much more freedom then the opponent has, and it, more often then not, puts the opponent at an instant disadvantage.
Blake
It makes opening first become a toss up in the air.If you open well, you went first and didn't have to deal with responses. Especially G1, because Veiler's bad atm and Maxx shouldn't be a major T1 issue most times. Also means opp has to neg themselves to Exciton you.If you open badly, it's worse than ever because you have to play the topdeck game forever. It definitely feels worse going second in the TCG than first in the OCG, at least for me, but I dunno... I feel like it makes it so downhill for the first turn player if they opened less than well. Moreso than ever.

Konami will make the announcement big enough by the time the Starter Deck comes if they do decide on it. Julia confirmed that "there are no plans to implement those rule changes right now" but also that we're getting a totally new rulebook in August and that "any potential rule changes will be present in it." This jives with how the OCG got their changes, so I'm inclined to believe that were getting them as well in the same manner, i.e. the start of series 9.
