(1): Target 1 face-up monster you control; that monster gains 300 ATK and DEF.
(2): When your opponent declares a direct attack while this card is in the Graveyard: You can Special Summon this card as a Normal Monster Card (Warrior-Type/DARK/Level 4/ATK 0/DEF 300) in Defense Position. (This card is not treated as a Trap Card.) If you do, banish this card when it leaves the field.

Oh, never mind, I went back and read it again in more detail.

 

So it can make R4 plays. Big deal. Everything else can much more efficiently and faster.

 

I think the bigger benefit of this is that it's essentially a Graveyard Trap that protects you like Rainbow Kuriboh and Necro Gardna.  This could be a cute tech in Lightsworns.

Well from what I think of, it's either Summoner Monk or generic discard fodder or mill material. But either way it's just meant to be a mediocre Rank 4 material. Besides you would likely waste another Necro Gardna/Electro Turtle to save it so....eh. But the anime did make a decent card so points to them.

At least unlike Death Spear you can do something with it to get it in the graveyard... that something is no good, but at least it's something.

 

Also as it stands as it is, there's no Synchro stipulation on them. They could be used for that too.

 

Heck, you could even tribute them for an advance summon...

Well, technically, they actually become monsters, rather than just acting as Material. Though yeah, that's pretty much what they're intended to be used for.

'Gagaga x Gagaga' and Xyz Plant already did the Spell Monster gimmick.
Those cards Elphasisaiasi-Astral-guy-whatever used already did Continuous Spells as Xyz Materials.
Pretty sure Astral and/or Shark played like 5-80 Spell cards that just freely Special Summoned Xyz monsters, then said card went right on ahead and attached itself to them.

Spell cards into Xyz monsters were all over the place in ZeXal, dood.
Hence, my sarcasm over This card being "groundbreaking".

Although, this card being as such is likely an in-joke BECAUSE ZeXal was like that.

Can you still potentially bring out 3 out of a single attack? 

I don't understand that'd be so broken about this card as a Spell Card. It'd gain Summoner Monk compatibility and the power to make a monster gain 300 ATK immediately..... preferably as a Quick-play *cough*

 

Well, I still think the card is cool. I'd use it.

 

 

Is it me or is Arc V running very subtle ATK boosts? ZeXal went huge with x2 ATKs and +1000s off the bat. Then we are getting a few +300 ATK boosts from this card and a couple Entermates, in addition to that Shingo's Dart Shooter gaining 600 (and piercing) by an Obelisk-like cost....

I'll be amused if those small effects can make the difference in a duel often enough.
