Contrast HERO Chaos

Recommended Posts

We finally have info on the card

ContrastHEROChaos-SD27-JP-OP.png

Warrior/Fusion/Effect

2 "Masked HERO" monsters
(This card is always treated as an "Elemental HERO" monster.)
Must be Fusion Summoned and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. While face-up on the field, this card is also LIGHT-Attribute. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can target 1 face-up card on the field; negate that face-up card's effect until the end of this turn.

Shouldn't it be named Elemental HERO Chaos? Maybe TCG will translate it as Contrast Elemental HERO Chaos?

This first condition would be much more easily possible if they printed the Normal "Masked HERO" monsters. I'm guessing this is also why they didn't. It probably wouldn't be the BEST Miracle Fusion target, but it would certain be one of the better ones in my opinion.

The first clause is technically a drawback, but not one I haven't grown to expect. Also being LIGHT Attribute doesn't seem like it will do much. From my experience with Void Ogre Dragon, however, 3000 ATK on a once-per-turn negating body is very nice, and this is slightly more flexible in what it can negate.

EDIT: I derped a bit. Fixed.

Interesting. So it's a Fusion of 2 Masked HEROs, but it's also an Elemental HERO card, letting you Summon it with Miracle Fusion.

3000 ATK is nice, plus having a Quick Effect to negate any face-up card for the turn. Counting as both Light and Dark feels like it could screw itself over, what with Super Poly existing, and Shaddolls being evil.

I would love to see Shadolls vs HERO in a fusion battle when they reveal earth, wind, and water. Such super poly much madness.side note:
Zero x1-2
Gaia x1
Shining x1-2
Core x1
Chaos x1
Goka x0-1
Koga x0-2
Kamekazi x0-1
Tornado x0-1
Mist x1-2
Fire EHero x0-1
Dark EHero x1-2
Rest of space for xyz...

I like this. I'd run it @1 (in a casual Deck, at least). In mid-to-late game, it can be devastating, especially if your opponent doesn't many resources available at the moment.

If it was a floater, of course, than it'd be truly amazing.

Oh look, you can negate even Spells and Traps with this card!  Good thing you can use Miracle Fusion for it.

When I read the materials, I almost thought that it said '2 "Vision HEROs"' and I would have just said junk.

Considering the Vision HEROs are all DARK and were used by Aster/Ed, this is a Chaos monster of sorts, and "Masked" and "Vision" are two entirely different words, I find this to be an interesting mix-up. In any case, I'd have been wondering what Konami was smoking, since this Structure Deck hasn't hinted to any Vision HERO support.

Well I was partially right, it is also a LIGHT monster, but I would have assumed a Light HERO + a Dark HERO as the fusion materials. Hopefully they'll get around to releasing the Main Deck M-HERO's and giving them effects (like they did for the manga's Ocean, Woodsman, and Shadow Mist).

Hmm, can this stop normal spells & traps if it chains to them?

Seems pretty good even if that's not the case outside of it's summoning cost anyways.

If it can (and I'm not sure, my YGO Fu is a bit rusty), then this card is great, no question. That's close to Quasar-level negation ability.
