So your idea of diversifying the meta is making Fishborg Blaster a thing w/ Formula @2 with Wind-Ups a deck. These decks both become actual literal 2 card OTK decks, that's really fair to everyone. I've never been n a Fishborg format, but really like the card. I guess I never really got hurt by Shock Master because I played stuff that could survive against it, but maybe not then. I don't really care about it tbh, but thought it was fine @1. No top-tier has used DAD since 2009. It's a very good card, but it has no impact on the meta at the moment, and Limiting Wyvern also works against it. I think that Wyvern is unhealthy for the game @3, tho, b/c it makes JD superconsistent and creates a very strong meta deck. I'll buff it to 2, though. As for the rest... All I did was make Dino-Rabbit, Dragunity and Plant Synchro playable in the metagame as standalone decks again. They weren't degenerate - well - except for the 1st era of Plant Synchro (but Ravine/Debris/Rabbit @3 is way too much anyway). Right... So your idea of diversifying the meta is making Fishborg Blaster a thing w/ Formula @2 with Wind-Ups a deck. These decks both become actual literal 2 card OTK decks, that's really fair to everyone. I think JD was fine before because it wasn't very consistent, but I'll Semi it anyway, since it is a pretty f***ed-up card. 2 DAD because Shaddolls. Do we really want to give them more power? You may say powercreep (and that is a fair enough term for it) but looking now march rulers seem tolerable. We may eventually get to a point when they even seem weak. I guess my point is design is not a solid definition while tops are. Tops aren't solid, either. Good player bad deck is better than bad player good deck, for example. Shaddolls aren't even that much creep, they're just exaggerated by casuals and helmets. Qliphorts are dumb, but every era has to have something dumb. Trishula and Bulb are both still stupidly powerful cards that don't deserve to exist. This hasn't changed, they're a +1 tuner from the grave and way too much damage in one card. Stratos is dubious so meh. Shock Master is fucking broken and the OCG praised the worlds format where it was banned. It is the most broken card printed in years, bar Judgment. The OCG list is fucking terrible, and encourages a gamestate full of degeneracy. Here's the thing- Why should something move down the list? Gamestate damage for whatever it enables and/or a particular card's design that makes a broken combo. Why should it move up? When it's sure that it supplies somethign positive to the gamestate, not just more degeneracy, even if it's weaker than before. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
