Y0SH1_M4S73R
Since Qliphoths are undeniably going to be the new meta post-NECH, I decided to go over three cards that could play a useful role, either playing with or against Qliphoths: The Egyptian Gods. Bear in mind that this post only goes over how they can be used in Qliphoths, especially in a mirror match.
Requires 3 Tributes to Normal Summon (cannot be Normal Set). This card's Normal Summon cannot be negated. When Normal Summoned, cards and effects cannot be activated. During the End Phase, if this card was Special Summoned: Send it to the Graveyard. This card gains 1000 ATK and DEF for each card in your hand. When a monster(s) is Normal or Special Summoned to your opponent's side of the field in face-up Attack Position: That monster(s) loses 2000 ATK, then if its ATK has been reduced to 0 as a result, destroy it. +Tool lets you pay 800 to give Slifer 1000 ATK/DEF and protection from 1 Killer proc. +If this is out prior, Killer becomes 1000/2600 on summon, no way around it. +Elaborating on the above, as long as you have 3 cards in hand, including 1 monster, Killer is dead. lolsuda51reference -Archive can bounce this. -If you have no monsters in hand, Killer gets rid of this. +But Killer still becomes 1000/2600, allowing even a pendulum'd Qliphoth to get over it (or crash into it if your opponent has something other than Trampolynx and Tool in a pendulum zone).

Requires 3 Tributes to Normal Summon (cannot be Normal Set). This card's Normal Summon cannot be negated. When Normal Summoned, cards and effects cannot be activated. Cannot be targeted by Spells, Traps, or card effects. During the End Phase, if this card was Special Summoned: Send it to the Graveyard. You can Tribute 2 monsters; destroy all monsters your opponent controls. This card cannot declare an attack the turn this effect is activated. +Gets over Killer under most circumstances. +Untargetable. +Can't get bounced by Archive. +Nuke effect triggers Archive and Genome. -Killer's send effect doesn't target, meaning Obelisk is vulnerable. +But if you have a monster in hand, Killer is done for next turn due to Obelisk's ATK.

Cannot be Special Summoned. Requires 3 Tributes to Normal Summon (cannot be Normal Set). This card's Normal Summon cannot be negated. When Normal Summoned, other cards and effects cannot be activated. When this card is Normal Summoned: You can pay Life Points so that you only have 100 left; this card gains ATK and DEF equal to the amount of Life Points paid. You can pay 1000 Life Points, then target 1 monster on the field; destroy that target. -Complete and utter garbage in every way imaginable. Why did Konami have to nerf this so much from the anime?

+Level 10+, so Killer is affected by their effects. +Tribute Summoned, so Killer can't reduce their ATK and DEF. +Archive and Genome go off when you use them as fodder for the gods. +Have 2 or more gods in your hand? Summon 1 this turn, pendulum the fodder next turn for another god, rinse and repeat. +Can't get hit with bottomless. -With the exception of Obelisk, they can be hit with every kind of removal that doesn't activate on Summon. (Except Mirror Force, which hits Obelisk as well.)
Thoughts? Questions? Anything I overlooked?

Blake
For fun. Fun's a terrible argument, and you should feel ashamed for it. And it's pretty clear OP isn't speaking in "fun", anyways.
Y0SH1_M4S73R
1) their own boss isn't worth it. Why would you run 2) unsearchable 3) winmoar cards 4) that do a worse job than Killer? 1) If you're talking about Horakhty, you're sort of missing the point. 2) They are searchable, but the card that searches them isn't that good in Qliphoths. 3) It's not really winmoar if they're used to defend against Killer. 4) Like I said, it's not to do Killer's job, but to defend against Killer. For one, You can use Killer's pop effect if your opponent has Killer, but Obelisk won't let your opponent send a monster in their hand to the grave instead of popping their own killer. EDIT: In addition, these are meant as 1-of side cards.
White Void
He meant Killer isn't worth running in Qliphoths (which makes sense given the requirements), not Horakthy.

If even Killer's not good, then knockoffs of Killer (in this deck) that are unsearchable (don't nitpick, it weakens your point) aren't good at all. It's like saying "Hey guys, we can run Pot of Avarice, but let's just run 1 Exodius instead". They're not even worth it in the side because you can just side better format and matchup hate, like Soul Drain for example.

Marco Polo
their own boss isn't worth it. Why would you run unsearchable winmoar cards that do a worse job than Killer? ~disgusted~ now, I've heard people say it here and there, but so far, Apoqliphoth is my only goal playing qliphs. he's super easy to get out, and let's you sit quiet without worrying of backrow. second to third turn and he's out there, I don't see how he's not "worth it". bs. CLG Klavier
Killer. Is. Unneeded. It's literally a dead card. You can't bring it out if you start unless your hand is Killer + Tool + 4 other Qliphs/Qliphort Sacrifice. How likely is it? If you open with it, you have a 4 card hand for first turn. Great. It's not a pendulum, so until you get rolling, it's a dead card. It requires 3 tributes when Shell or Disk need only 2, and they do a much better job finishing the game since, while Killer is huge, it does nothing to push the game to the end. You can run 1 so it doesn't clog and can be fetched with tool? Why would I get Killer when I can get Disk to grab even more Qliphs for future turns, or grab a Shell which has piercing AND a virtual 5600 ATK? Seriously guys, get over it. Well, you see, Killer isn't a bad card at all, it's actually damn good (pretty much a searchable win button against some decks), BUT the issue is, Qliphoths can win even more easily without it. It's horribly dead turn 1, because it doesn't help you set up at all, and the chances of drawing it and a hand that can summon it are pretty slim. I still run 1, because of awsome, but if I tried to optimize my build I would most certainly cut it off.

That's what I'm afraid of. It's bad and traumatizing and theres no pressure on getting killer turn 1, there's pressure on getting tool, it sets up the whole thing in motion. Pure qliph build is the only build that should run apoq, that way, the strategy is simply getting tool, searching saqliphoth (guarantees another tool just in case or speeds up your game), equipping it to a qliph which you will definitely have in your hand by now (since it's a pure build.) and next turn you just search apoqliphoth, by then you'll already manage a pendulum scale /fortress and you'll summon apoq with ease. If they destroy your tool, it just slows you a little. I only use disc for prepping tributes for apoqliphoth / finishing an already done game. Shell is nice and all but is vulnerable, riskier play. Summoning apoqliphoth is easy as pie, and apoqliphoth is a powerhouse that doesn't care about the opp's backrow at all. It's the assurance I need.
