Toffee.
While this card is face-up on the field, it cannot be Tributed. If this card is Normal or Flip Summoned: Change this card to Defense Position. Once per turn: You can discard 1 Spell Card; Special Summon 1 Level 4 monster from your Deck, but that monster cannot attack this turn.Oh, you know me, I've always liked this card. I mean, the Spell cost is rather high and it's also a serious issue if it's ever interrupted. but on the other hand, you can basically given free range of your Deck, on the grounds that you can Summon any Level 4. Add to it, you could typically pick a monster that would go and do something else when it hits the field to compensate for the Spell you discarded. Plus, you could always go and instantly Xyz/Synchro(If you picked a Tuner)/etc with whatever you just grabbed, as an obvious means to playing around the 'It can't attack' drawback. So it's a gimmicky card, with a rather steep cost, and a very amusing reward.I'm ignoring the fact this card can lead to OTKsDiscuss. Maeriberii Haan
Kinda the 4th and 5th copy of Sapphire Pegasus in my CB deck, but I'm waiting for the day when I can use something else instead of this.

Lonk
There are some Spells that do want to be in the Graveyard, so Monk has that going for it.
Expelsword
Since you have 6 RotA in Heroes, dropping one to get Mask Change is pretty solid.
goddamnit names are a pain
I've ALMOST considered using it Melodious due to the huge amount of spells present, but more often than not those spells get/need to be used. Has a lot of merit in other decks, though. I'm curious….why exactly do you think they forced it to be level 4? Not saying that's bad design in the least, but more so…what made them do that, back then?

Maeriberii Haan
Likely to prevent too easy of a BRD, and just hinder synchro decks in general Idk, I think this is a pretty old card actually (I remember seeing it in R, for example). So yeah.
goddamnit names are a pain
Likely to prevent too easy of a BRD, and just hinder synchro decks in general Even back then they had hostility towards Synchros. All the cards in the beginning of the Xyz saying"cannot be used as a Synchro material monster" yet I hardly see any restriction on Xyz. Maybe it's just something I'll never really get…but for example, does Gagaga Magician really need that restriction?

werewolfjedi
Likely to prevent too easy of a BRD, and just hinder synchro decks in general this came out before synchros were a thing. way before. like 2007 at the earliest.

Even I see the problem with Dial-a-Synchro. With a Level 1 Tuner, Gagaga can practically summon everything from Formula Synchron to Giganticastle
玄魔の王
this came out before synchros were a thing. way before. like 2007 at the earliest. It was introduced in the R Manga, so it would've come out in the OCG in like 2005-2006.
goddamnit names are a pain
I thought I'd comment on this card after last night's games with ABC. …this card is just silly in Scraps. Just downright silly. So many +s.
The15thWing
Not healthy any higher than 2, for the obvious reasons of turning a Spell into almost any Monster in a deck that runs this. Amazing card overall, the Spell cost is pretty easy most of the time, and in decks like Heroes, Scraps, and even some Synchro decks, it's a great card. Even a possibility in NK. Also, just gonna say, that can't be Tributed is completely irrelevant nowadays. I guess it was added to stop LVL 7+ Summons the turn after you use it's effect or whatever, but even that's not too bad.

Summoner Monk doesn't do any better than anything I've seen in the game right now, in fact it's gotten pretty bad with Breakthough Skill, Fiendish Chain, Max C, Veiler, and Warning. The15thWing
So it's basically a fair tradeoff? Summoner Monk doesn't do any better than anything I've seen in the game right now, in fact it's gotten pretty bad with Breakthough Skill, Fiendish Chain, Max C, Veiler, and Warning. A card that turns any Spell in your hand, into any Monster in your deck, is not a fair trade. That's like saying: "Oh, I could use this card in my hand, or I could dump it and toolbox my deck." In fact, it turns a Spell INTO such a method; As if changing it's text to read such an effect. The only real problem with it is in fact the cards you mentioned, but even then, that's like saying backrow stops Tin Goldfish, or half the other Toolboxes. Yes, you dropped a Spell if you get negated, but it's still a card with massive implications. Notice how I said "Unhealthy," at more than 2. I'm not saying it would ruin the game/become a big threat or such, but it's just not something I can see at 3.
