Heroic Challenger - Assault Halberd

If your opponent controls a monster and you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent. When this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent: You can add 1 "Heroic" card from your Deck to your hand.

This card is amazing and you guys should run it more often.
I mean, it does the same sort of thing Thrasher does in the sense that it's a Level 4 Cyber Dragon-esque monster. Difference here, is that This card can search copies of itself and can almost always set off it's own effect; It's effectively an offensive floater(if that's even a thing). Not to mention, it doesn't need to be the only thing on your side to be able to attack. I mean, yea, it's short of the expected 1900 norm, but 1800 is still rather high, and can still run over a fair share of things. Plus, RotA beinbg@3 gives this card some relevance because Warriors are cool again. It's also EARTH, on the off chance you run Redox.

We play the decks just fine and then a ban list comes around and changes things, so be it?

It feels/sounds perfectly normal to me, at least. You just…play with it until it changes. That's what YGO typically is.

Part of what I was getting at is that OCG is OCG and TCG is TCG; DN is OCG/TCG using TCG's list, so it has it's own weird ideals going on.

This is just another one of those cards that the TCG really needs to best support a certain archetype. Heroics could probably be really fun once the TCG has them all. Still waiting on No.18 and Amphisbaena for Heraldics. I suspect we won't even get those until Xyz are pushed aside by Pendulums, which will hurt Heraldics' effectiveness.

 

All in all, a very neat card. 1800 Level 4 Warrior with Piercing, has a Cyber Dragon clause, and searches Heroic CARDS when it deals damage.

Meaning I enjoy some of the "exclusives" that the OCG has. And then they take years to come to the TCG.

Meanwhile…I swear the OCG gets our exclusives insanely faster than we get theirs.

I personally find the concept of exclusives to be rather stupid but still logical.

 

Also, I literally hate the rest of what the OCG is. I merely want to play the game with all of the cards available instead of waiting years to play one card in a deck that won't be able to do anything in a few months.

Those exclusives are tailored to the banlist and format. Noden would break TCG into it's substituent parts of s***. TCG cannot handle OCG exclusives at the moment. If you want a format where KoA babys you and removes all the power cards then stop whining about not getting OCG exclusives. I have to wait a year to get Burning Abyss, am I throwing a fit? 

 

Allow me to elaborate a little. There is another way to look at necloths that demonstrates my point. Necloth Trishula. TCG'ers everywhere are crying power creep and "putting trishula at infinity" While it may look like that way from a TCG standpoint. OCG carefully tested Regular Trishula for OVER A YEAR @1 before creating cards like Necloth Trish and deeming them accceptable to the format. The spent a YEAR tailoring the list to things like this. You want exclusives to jump ship so you can get the "best" of both worlds? Well KoA wants to try that, tell me how having 3 Necloth Trish in a format that cannot even deal with 1 regular Trish satisfies your greed....there is a VERY good reason exclusives exist post sept 2013, before that I would agree with you

Exclusives exist for a single reason - TCG and OCG are way different, due to seperate banlists now. Some cards are created to fit the CURRENT BANLIST THAT EXISTS IN THE FORMAT (like Ookaminari is clearly Konami going "sry guys you didn't get Raigeki here, have this"). Let's take Necloths for example. Everyone is playing them online with 3 RotAs. But this will never happen. By the time they come to TCG, RotA might be back to 2 or 1, and OCG doesn't have it unlimited either. So you're not playing ANY kind of format then.

I do agree that some exclusives (Seraphs and Noden) would be wayyyy too powerful for the TCG atm, but what about those cards that don't have such an impact? Such as the chronomaly and heraldic beast exclusives. Those cards take just as long as the ones that do have significant impact to get over here, and we really do want them. (for us number hunters and those who actually like the archetypes).

 

With the OCG, they have an extra pack every year, guaranteeing them our exclusives (and Koreas exclusives too). We however have no such guarantee, and only get 10 cards with each booster (cards that usually turn out to be either old cards nobody cares about or promos instead of the actual exclusives).

gonna have disagree a slight bit there, it feels like pendulum monsters are becoming a way to make everything more easily played. I mean, our first big pendulum types are what. main protagnist, a tribute theme, and a "were are spirit monsters no really" sort of deal? I expect an XYZ pendulum theme to come in due time.

Chronofacts at full power is brutal. And CAT is a terrifying deck in OCG even after Moraltech limit, it would be so much more dangerous with Moral @3. If you want to play under the pussy list then take the pussy cards and stop whining

The next banlist comes into effect on January 1st, The Secret Forces doesn't come out till mid-February.
