~British Soul~
When a monster you control is targeted for an attack, if it has less ATK than the attacking monster: That monster is not destroyed by this battle, you take no battle damage from this battle, also it gains 1000 ATK. discuss? (GigaDrillBreaker)
It would be a hell of a lot better if i just ended the battle phase.

Yemachu
It would be a hell of a lot better if i just ended the battle phase. But we already have that: But "Negate Attack" does not cause the targeted monster to gain ATK :P. Though it is vastly superior in all other aspects; less restrictive activation requirements, higher Spell Speed, and protecting your entire field for a turn. Yeah, but Konami doesn't want to make Negate Attack useless...wait, does anyone even use Negate Attack?

It'd be interesting to see someone use Negate Attack and Waboku in the anime again.
Yemachu
Yeah, but Konami doesn't want to make Negate Attack useless...wait, does anyone even use Negate Attack? As far as I'm aware, "Negate Attack" is barely run; maybe a few stray "Exodia"-Decks use it. But why run it if there is a superior option available? "Threatening Roar" might not be able to stop an attacking monster, but can be chained to most cards that try to destroy it. It'd be interesting to see someone use Negate Attack and Waboku in the anime again. Maybe if Yugi / Atem came along for a duel (or another movie with all protagonists); otherwise I think the chances of seeing said cards in the anime are quite slim. Toffee.
It would be a hell of a lot better if i just ended the battle phase. Or, you know, wasn't a random version of like 500 other existing cards.
newhat
This isn't strictly worse than Negate Attack or Scrap-Iron Scarecrow. The permanent 1000 gain could be useful even if you still "lose" the battle. Nonetheless, Lance is more practical 99% of the time.
