The Monarchs Transform!

Here is a new card for monarchs that can get their mega forms faster. What do you think?

Tribute 1 Tribute Summoned monster you control with 2400 ATK and 1000 DEF; Special Summon, from your Deck, 1 monster with 2800 ATK and 1000 DEF with the same Attribute as the Tributed monster. That monster is treated as though it was Tribute Summoned using the Tributed monster. You can only activate 1 "The Monarchs Transform!" per turn.

This is pretty absurd.  Monarchs have always been balanced out by the natural limitations of Tribute summoning, and this you just legendary steamroller super comboed right over that limitation.  Not to say I don't like this card.  I think it's awesome, but as of now it has no form of a cost.  What that cost should be, I have no idea, but it needs one.

While the intention behind this was neat as Mega Monarchs were not the easiest to summon, i am going to be the first to address that this easily can bring Qliphorts to a better stance. just Tribute a tribute summoned Carrier and bring out a Stealth and get all the popping. Awesome, but it does need a cost. possibly like a No Battle Conduct clause or something like that.

That is a great monarchs card!

Please read the Advanced Clause again.

Because of the nature of this section, you must give some examples of any possible usages or a more detailed thought on your opinion.

Consider the two posters beneath you.

Anyway, while I can see this was meant to work with the Mega Monarchs, there's a reason why they have to be Tribute Summoned again; due to their effects.

Like the above mentioned, Qlips also can abuse this card with Carrier, Monolith and Helix to summon their stronger ones (Access, Shell, Alias, Disk).

Hopefully you understand the mentality of Qlips in this section; they are BAD design.

Indeed, it does need a cost or a drawback of some sort.

If you notice from Stormforth, it holds an Extra Deck lock; though Monarchs don't care about it much anyway, so point is moot.

A suitable drawback would be locking any battle damage you inflict that turn, or a no attacking clause. Either that, or you can just cut the summoned monster's ATK to 0 for the turn.

---

It is nice support for them, yes, but a bit too good as it is now.

So its a Monarch Mask Change which seems cool.

In a way, that's true; but remember that this card DOES have implications outside of Monarchs, as noted above with Qlips.

Also keep in mind that you need to elaborate a bit more on cards in this section, when you reply to them.

At minimum, you need around 2-3 sentences to explain your reasoning.

Why do you think this is a good thing for them, aside from whatever we already noted?

As mentioned in the above posts, looks cool on paper, but has accidental interactions by letting Qliphorts pull their greatest weapons from their Deck at full power.

So, what happens if we force the only targets of this card to be Mega Monarchs? What if this card has to use one of your Normal Summons (which would create some weird wording...) instead of simply advancing a Monarch to its Mega form without needing to wait?

Ok, here is a fixed errata: Meaning you can only SP Summon using this card.

You cannot Special Summon other monsters this turn. You can only activate 1 "The Monarchs Transform!" per turn.

Then how do I improve it?

Maybe with the idea by Gadjiltron, the card can change to "Special Summon 1 "Mega Monarch" monster from your deck with the same Attribute as the Tributed monster." This can easily stop the Qliphort problem, and if Qliphorts were to use this, then they can really only special summon Granmarg and only get the tributed Carrier/Helix effects as well as Granmarg, and this also implies that your pendulum zones are empty since all Qliphorts carry the "You cannot Special Summon Monsters except "Qli" Monsters" effect, and on top of the you cannot Special Summon for the turn, it prevents them from just using Scout afterwards and Pendulum Summoning from there. That and no Saqlifice is nice too. Now if this did exist, i would play in an instant. Mega Caius on Burning Abyss or Shaddolls? SIGN ME UP!

What about this: Instead of Summnoning monsters of the same Attribute, you should Summon with a different one. Qliphorts are all EARTH Attribute monsters. ;)

Even with this limitation, the Mega Monarchs still keep their basic effects (still being stronger than the original Monarchs).
