Entermage Flame Eater
Level 4 FIRE Spellcaster-Type Effect Monster
ATK 1200

(1) When an effect that would inflict damage to you is activated: You can Special Summon this card from your hand, and if you do, you take no damage from that effect. You cannot Special Summon monsters, except "Entermage" monsters for the rest of this turn. If summoned this way, banish this card when it leaves the field.
(2) If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: Inflict 500 damage to both players.

So, they're kind of like D/D in that you are trying to take damage by your own effects to make them work? That's odd, but I guess that it makes them a little more playable. I like how this works with Trick Box, since the effect is mandatory, so you will be able to activate effects that activate when your opponent inflict effect damage to you.

I... Don't like the design. At all.

It's not broken, unfair, or anything like that, but...

It's an anti-burn card. That has a mandatory burn payment.

I get that it's to feed into more copies and the like, but it should at least be optional. An anti-burn card should NOT have the potential to kill you like this. It's just incoherent.

Fire eating is actually a very dangerour trick, with lots of potential for injury and even death. It makes sense flavour-wise that there's risk involved.

I get it as a flavor design, but as a game design it doesn't make a lot of sense, given that it's supposed to SAVE you .~.

Black means the multi burn part. It can already do the trick to eat the fire, but shouldn't go and burn itself; makes it look inexperienced and scrubby.

....aside from the fact it helps to play other copies.

I have a feeling aegis of gaia is going to fit in this deck decently well. Also like the dark snake syndrome idea. You could also use burning land for a slower, less all-consuming continuous source of burn.

Prime material dragon might probably have a field day in this deck as well considering the burning effects.
