Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell

I honestly forgot this card existed until I remembered it while building a ideal Side Deck. With the amount of Fusion Spells going around at the moment, this seems perfect for essentially shutting down a Deck. Also Bastion ran it so it makes it 10 times better.

it still depends on you drawing it and having the ability to rebound from the cost, but once you manage to get one of their spells sealed, this literally wins you matches against Qliphort, Nekroz (albeit somewhat less impactful), Shaddoll, and other meta decks.

Might actually consider this if it isn't too inconsistent.

Problem with this card, and in relation to the current decks floating around.... It leaves far too much up to chance.

Which is why it is a ideal Side Card. If you run into Shadolls and the like, you can Side into this next Game.

Wouldn't you want to strive for a more efficient card?

There is much better cards out there but the simple fact this can Cripple quite a few of the Top Decks and sealing their Fusion Summoning or shutting down their key Spell Card makes this too hard to pass up. I am currently running 2 in the side as my Madolche Main Deck runs a good amount of Spells with Ticket and Chateau also being in the grave as food for Tiaramisu.

There are better, more reliable answers to all of the things that this answers. Too many to even list actually. Only place I can see it being good is in Nekroz to side against Shaddoll because Nekroz can recover their Ritual Spells almost immediately. Even then, its probably not worth it anyway.

Don't mind me asking but what other card wipes out the ability to use the Countered Spell for the entire DUEL. Decks like Frightfurs have been completedly fucked. Nekroz, Shadoll, heck any Deck that relies on a certain Fusion Spell or key Spell Card is fucked.

It's very potent against certain Decks. The problem is both the inconsistency of hitting their absolute key card requires you to have it, and the cost, already in place, and that the cost is to discard a Spell of your own, which depending on the Deck...you might not actually have.

That said, you can hit Pendulums being activated, which is so cool. Unfortunately, this card specifically says they cannot activate SPELL CARDS with the same name. Well, Pendulums are also monsters, so you can still Summon the Pendulum monsters and use their monster effects, you just can no longer play them as a Scale.

The cost is really bad. It's almost always a solid -1 since you rarely gain advantage discarding spells, and there's also the fact that you need a spell-heavy deck to play it else it'll be dead a lot of the time. Resolving it against Shaddoll is really nice, but there's no guarantee you'll resolve it and even if you do you're setting yourself back very far to use it.

What I find amusing about this card is that the decks it is most effective against (i.e Fusion and Ritual decks) can probably use it the easiest due to the ability to recycle their Fusion/Ritual spells, either Archetypal support or cards such as Fusion Reserve and Preperation of Rites. I guess you could also discard a Field Spell then get it back with something like Minefieldriller or banish it for Pseudo Space.
