Royal Pendulum Library

LIGHT     Level 4     [Spellcaster/Pendulum/Effect]     0/2000     Scales: < 7 >

Pendulum Effect:

Each time a Spell Card is activated, place 1 Spell Counter on this card when that Spell Card resolves. When a Spellcaster-Type monster(s) is Pendulum Summoned: You can place 1 Spell Counter on each of them, except on "Royal Pendulum Library".

Monster Effect:

Each time a Spell Card is activated, place 1 Spell Counter on this card when that Spell Card resolves. You can only activate each effect of "Royal Pendulum Library" once per turn. During your opponent's turn: You can remove 2 Spell Counters from this card; If this card is still face-up, draw 1 card (this is a quick effect). During your Main Phase: You can remove 1 Spell Counter from this card; draw 1 card.

The card was inspired by the Royal Magical Library thread at TCG.

It is meant to fit Spell Counter Cards as support as well as dub as a non-FTK oriented draw engine that can be used for the general population.

It doesn't take 3 Counters so you can splash it anywhere for that 1 draw, though you still need a Summoner Monk play or your Normal Summon, and it being a Pendulum means many decks won't see it again for the rest of the duel after its gone.

It has a quick effect that will give you a second draw if you put more investment into your Spell Counter gathering, but you need to go to your opponent's turn and it can be disrupted by non-negating effects. Still, just 2 Spell Counters for it.

It being a Pendulum is one of the main gimmicks going for it. You'll benefit from both its effect in the Pendulum Zone and it coming back every turn after your opponent inevitably takes it down. Not to mention it is meant to be paired up with the upcoming Scale 3 "Magical Abductor". Together they will be able to Pendulum Summon previously heavy cards like "Magical Marionette", "Dark Red Enchanter", or "Breaker the Dark Magical Warrior" OR quicken the arrival of regular Breaker or Magical Exemplar. All the while, it increases the amount of Spell Counters that the field will produce without the need of cycling through certain searching Spells, which ultimately benefits "Magical Citadel of Endymion" which in turn helps Endymion himself be re-Summoned more often (I intentionally left his Level out of the Pendulum range btw so that Citadel could get the honors).

Finally, this card works under the impression that FTK cards like Tempest Magician and Royal Magical Library would be gone for good if it existed, so please treat this card under the impression those are banned.

Comments/Suggestions welcome =D

The Pendulum Zone effect is nice and I cannot think of anything too overpowered or broken involving it at the moment.

On the other hand, I think that Pendulum Summoning this and activating a Spell Card (and I believe activating Pendulums on Pendulum Zones count as Spell Cards as well?) to draw 1 card every turn is prone to becoming ugly, considering the plus(es) from the Pendulum Summon/swarm itself. To be safer, I would raise the number of Counters required for the MP effect to at least 2, if not 3 like the original Library.

The fact that this has a hard OPT really remedies a lot of the issues. The synergy and searchability with Magical Abductor is just gravy.

Yes, it creates significant card advantage, but this advantage is given over time, so you can't LOLFTK like what the original library is used for. This could be really fun in a Pendulum Magician deck, Prophecy, or good old-fashioned spellcounter.dek.

Even though arguments can be made that this is stronger than RML, it is considerably less degenerate.
