Your opponent's monsters cannot declare attacks. During each of your End Phases, you must pay 1000 LP (This is not optional), or this card is destroyed. You can target 1 level 1 Tuner monster in your Graveyard; destroy this card, and if you do, Special Summon that target. "Red Dragon Archfiend" must be on the field to activate and resolve this effect.

I've always had a particularly fondness of this card. and now we have Red Dragon Archfiend Scarlight who becomes RDA on the field. Will that mean much for this card? Probably not. But I still think it's a pretty cool card.

Discuss?

back in those days, where attack locking actually meant something, it was a pretty solid reason to run RDA in addition to its powerful effect which is now fairly dated today.

It was..?

I'm the only person I've ever seen run this card, and I was running Resonators as a complete scrub ._.

Am I the only one who assumes that the champion & king archetype fits jack more than resonators ?

Champion support would be most appreciated, at least one of jacks manga evolutions is revealed to be in highspeed riders and thus (hopefully) he might not get the x-saber/constellar/gem-knight treatment and might actually get a few spots for his cards (abyss, belial, calamity, the king and champion cards).

Anyways back to the card at hand ... not much to say about it, it screams relying on unreliable attack protections or tributing it for one small piece of setup for red nova dragon (even thought junk snychron does it much better).

Except the Kings don't have any sort of core strategy, while Resonators do. The King archetype is also blatantly in-your-face, while Jack's anime deck relies o combos and thinking ahead (at least early on).

This is a cool card, but not that practical.

The kings do not have many mebers anyways and manga archetypes tend to be quite easy, however (similiar to the speedroid cards, which have been released) anime/manga cards can be buffed enough to actually be decent, not to mention that cards like speed revival (which used to be a worse monster reborn) can get additional effects to support the own archtype/playstyle, beyond being an archtype specific monster reborn.

Another example would be speedroid red-eyed dice, a monster which did not have any revealed effects at all (at least no effect of it was used, similar to the king cards, as manga cards do not have more printed on them than necessary for the episode), so starting from that point the king archtype is quite similar to a tabula rasa, you still have all the space you require to add a purpose.

Why do I draw the comparison to speedroids, quite easy, they have been revealed recently and they would be in the same booster.

It would not be the first time a real card would be different from its anime/manga counterparts (one example is shooting star dragon, a monster forged to COUNTER meklord emperor wisel or meklords in general, the real version cannot escape meklords and thus contradicts the reason it was created).
