Apoqliphort Towers

Recommended Posts

And how many of those were commonly used when Towers Turbo went crazy at Euros? The meta without answers I spoke of was then, not now.

No one played them because no one expected Towers? You don't prepare for things you have no idea will come at you. That's why the deck did well. Surprise factor. Now that surprise factor is gone, it'll be back to being mediocre, like before.

A card that makes all other decks have to run crappy cards must be good though.

Yes, it's not like all the cards I posted above are core parts of the decks the belong to or just generically good cards that don't invade your gameplan.

That was literally my exact point, hence the general prognosis of Shell being better.

Good grief

Summoning this = Game over, more degenerate than Macro Cosmos. /thread

lmao

i summon a blackwing and kalut it to run this over,
do qilphorts have an out to this?

Yeah, a tribute summoned 2800 with a 1 scale out gets it to 3100

When it came out people said it was a win moar card that no one would run

It came out over half a year ago

funk Bujingi Crane, there's no point having a Towers out when you still lose to Qli because they're a waay better deck.

Towers is much weaker now that people are ready for it.

This is correct.

A card that makes all other decks have to run crappy cards must be good though.

They're only crappy in decks that really can't out Towers (BA have to play funking Magnum Shield). Stuff like Decisive Armor in Nekroz and 3-mat Rhongo in Tellarknights (although this one's a little hard to make) is not really much of a stretch.

I mean if you really put your mind to it every deck can put up some sort of out to it. Nekroz out it naturally and Trish you in the process which really blows, as well as being able to naturally side Droll & Lock Bird, Tellarknights, which do struggle slightly unless you're American and play Crab King, can make 3-mat Rhongo if possible, Shaddolls have a rough time but they can make Star Eater with a reasonable degree of consistency and can naturally maindeck Ghost Ogre, BA really have a tough time and have to play shitty Magnum Shield or something to out it, Ritual Beasts can Apelio+Ulti-Apelio (I think? or does Ulti-Apelio just stop activations on attacks? In that case it's harder but possible with Gaiapelio and Apelio), etc etc.

The main redeeming factor is that it's really funking good even if you do lose the Towers. You draw 3 in the end phase with Monolith and unless you can clear the scales after outing Towers you're probably just going to lose to beatdown, and you also need to contend with Skill Drain and Vanity's which, if you draw 15 cards of your deck, you have a very decent chance of getting to. I personally think a build with slightly more traps that plays Towers but makes it a turn or two later is the best Qli build right now, because Wavering Eyes still makes it really easy but it makes the deck less of a paperweight and means you have less chances of topdecking a random Shell or Cephalopod when you're trying to get back into a game where you've been Trished twice.

Wavering Eyes is ridiculous, though, I like the fact that I'm able to simply call a card OP rather than the "bad design" rhetoric, but it just does way too much. It's literally an autowin if you resolve it against your opponent's 2 scales in a Qli mirror and the mirror really does come down to who can open Wavering Eyes and successfully resolve it because it's just so funking powerful. Should be at least limited, if not banned, I've said this for a while now.

A lot of those cards do not actually get over it due to them being special summoned, thus losing the 500 atk and def.

That's why we mentioned nothing but cards that either have 3500 or more or are unaffected by cards/attack drops.

Well, ihop kinda explained what I meant alot better, because summoning towers itself sets you up quite nicely and your opponent then is forced to use an out on it and possibly waste a turn, all whilst you can repeatedly setup and bash alot with 1800 beaters, not even counting on if they have skill drain etc.

Glad we're on the same... page?

Yeah, but if you have nothing else to bring into the discussion but salt and buzzwords, then come on.

Wow ok.

Get on me for how I posted but not at the truth of my post. Kindly piss off now. If anything wavering eyes is aids, end of story.

Don't Tellars play, like, fifty billion Call of the Howasis?

They also have Vega. I mean, they shouldn't really be struggiling to kill it.

Well, you're under a fair bit of pressure because they can pendulum summon and tribute summon next turn, plus being forced to send 1 card a turn kinda hurts in that deck since almost none of your cards want to go to grave. You're right in that they don't really struggle but Vega+something is their best bet.

Answering the first turn Towers is one thing.

Answering future drops of Towers is another thing. Answering the deck itself after they amass 3 draws from Monolith is another thing.

I'm not sure yet about how strong this deck is, but it's far from a one-note deck that will crumble once the first turn Towers get killed.
