The disappointing part is that you can't actually Pendulum Summon either of them, and that there's no monster-way of getting these guys in the Graveyard in order to recycle them as monsters. Face-up in the Extra Deck may as well be worse than the Banished Zone for Superheavies at this point. On the plus side, this opens up more opportunities for different synchro-oriented builds like Superheavy Symphonics or something else. Hopefully they make the ED more accessible for Pendulum Summons with further support, though.

Still waiting for either Scale 0 and 9 SHS Pendulums or a monster card that can take advantage of them being in the ED, because even if their effects are awesome, the fact currently there's no way of PS these two severely hinders their viability; the D/D Astronomers at least have Lilith to retrieve them from either the Extra or Graveyard.

IMO, Superheavies need like another set of Pendulum monsters that can actually be PS'd to rectify this, or at least their own Lilith. Not being able to run spells like Pot of Riches to recycle your pendulums or do anything with them once they hit the ED is a big downside. At least the monster effects are really good, though. But for now, Rescue Hamster is the only way they get the Pendulum Monsters back, but then it's of the same scale.

Well.....I mean.....

If you could pendulum summon Sango it would be really OP since it can tribute itself. A once per turn draw 1-2 is kinda ridiculous.

Yeah, it's like people don't realize Sango can tribute himself. If he was level 2, if you got 2 Sangos, set 1 as scale and kept re-summoning the other one, the draw output would be insane. Pretty clever of them so solve it like that.

It doesn't make the cards any less good. Sango's still a mini Valkyrus that triggers Soulpiercer Bow and alike, while Pendulums are generally a solid idea for Superheavies since they let them go off harder.

I don't understand how some people can think these are bad.

Sango makes Soulpiercer easier to set-off while getting a draw at the same time. That alone is worth solid consideration. It helps that he can put any of the equips that you need in the grave there easily while he plays nicely with all of the special summoning SHS as well.

Hisui is a less dead Benkei that's a little weaker but far more consistent. Also, Trumpeter + Hisui = instant Susanowo so that's a huge plus.

I think Benkei is probably still decent at like one but for most intents and purposes, Hisui outclasses him.

These are arguably the best non-equip monsters the archetype has ever received and that's before even factoring in how much pendulums can help the deck.

Nothing wrong with these. They're actually better than the anime versions, which were genuinely just meh. Yes, being Scale 1 and 8 is sad because no Benkei. Except the Deck's support has started drifting away from Benkei as the main monster and instead on the Synchros and equip effects. Having access to Pendulum Summon PERIOD, especially Scales as wide as 1-8, is incredible. Yes, it is sad there isn't currently a way to Pendulum Summon themselves without using non Superheavy Samurai Scales, but that's remedied by their monster effects being so good.

The Level 1 Scale 8 lets a Samurai attack again if it killed something, with no cost to this. The anime one destroyed itself. It also has a requirement to use Steadfast Style, but at this point, you really shouldn't consider NOT using Steadfast Style with Superheavy Samurai.

And its Monster Effect lets you Tribute monsters to draw cards.

The Level 8 Scale 1 lets you modify a Samurai's Level to help with Synchro Summons. It also restricts non-Superheavy Samurai Pendulum Summons. You can still Synchro Summon non-Superheavy Samurai, or Special Summon them with other means. So no problem there.

And its monster effect lets you Tribute Summon it for 1 Samurai (awesome) and switch itself to DEF. And then it can attack in DEF. Not sure what its DEF actually is. Probably like 2700, though.

As I mentioned earlier, it wqs most lilely 2800.

On a new check, it IS 2800.

I have to say Superheavy General Hisui's monster effect is pretty good, being a lesser Benkei. I dunno, I still like Benkei though, if only because he allows other Samurais to attack as well. But Hisui can get Susanoo out pretty fast.

Special summon Trumpter. Tribute summon Hisui. Trumpter comes back due to its effect. Synchro Summon. Profit.

Its pendulum effect isn't too bad. It allows for easier synchros or Xyzs summon. (Btw, why isn't there a Superheavy Samurai Xyz?)

Sango's pendulum effect is really good, because second attack 7000 Susanoo is terrifying. The monster effect... It's okay. If I pendulum summoned a bunch of the graveyard traps and tributed them, that's be good. Or if I tributed Soulpiercer. That's a search and two cards. Not too shabby. But otherwise... Eh... It doesn't have enough defense to live through anything without a bunch of set up.
