Miror B
Reading through, this isn't the first time they've entered a "war time state" so it could end up anywhere between world war 3 and 2 5 year olds fighting over the last bagel at breakfast. Resident Fascist
Look like that time of the year again. Nothing coming out of this. Well I mean they have been at war since 1953 (?). While I'm pretty sure they've had a few skirmishes in the past, I'm hoping this one blows over quickly and doesn't result in other nations getting involved. Thankfully, while the US still has troops stationed in South Korea as far as I'm aware, I doubt a full scale attack would happen unless North Korea attacks first. That also being said, it's North Korea and they're unpredictable as hell. I would hope they don't end up dragging the entire world down with them. Maybe the Fermi Paradox is true and we're about to hit the great filter.
ihop
Kim Jong Un couldn't take over a conga, let alone another country. He's just trying to show the people how brave Dear Leader is for standing up to the rest of the world.
Shalltear Bloodfallen
Kim Jong Un couldn't take over a conga, let alone another country. He's just trying to show the people how brave Dear Leader is for standing up to the rest of the world. This deserves to be quoted every time North Korea throws a tantrum like this, because really, at this point, unless you're overly paranoid, people are gonna start demanding to see some, you know, actions behind all those threats Kim's regime keeps spewing if we're actually to believe his country is a threat to us. Me personally, I'd be astonished if this is little more then them being on edge due to the current UFG exercise, aswell as wounded pride since they evidently consider return fire a "severe military provocation", the loudspeaker messages as "propaganda", and have already made multiple threats that they'll hit US soil unless they atleast call off their involvement in UFG, despite still lacking the tried and tested technology required to back those threats up. They know they cant deal with the US military, even if they have China and who knows as allies. The US spends more on their military then multiple countries do COMBINED, so given the current status of North Korea, as far as I'm concerned they wouldnt even last a day against the US military, even if they dumped every single penny avaliable into their soldiers, if they did provoke the US it into action. At this point they're just trying to stick their chest out and look threatening, hoping it makes the US back off from supporting South Korea so they can resume their petty war, aswell as make their "glorious leader" look good for their own people. Shradow
I'm not really expecting much to come out of this, just like anything else they've threatened about or whatever recently, but I'm still a bit wary about the situation because there's always the slight possibility that things head south. Sander
Threats are threats. They should not be taken lightly, even if the source is unlikely to act on it.
bury the year
This isn't something to worry about until it actually escalates. North Korea needs to make these threats every so often to reaffirm their legitimacy - in their eyes to both their people and the rest of the world. Never do they actually act upon any of this.
