Draconus297 Posted November 8, 2015 Report Share Posted November 8, 2015 Holy hell, this took a lot of setup (I had this idea in the middle of last month, and I spent weeks determining the card pool and how I was going to sort out the rules and such), but here it is: a DP equivalent to the "sealed pack" format! Okay, I went through my own collection, not counting any card that mentions an archetype or card (besides itself), and put together a list of 963 cards. This list is half-organized, half-scrambled, just to make it so someone who is really good at Battleship can't just scoop up all the good stuff. Anyone who wants to participate chooses 54 numbers between 1 and 963 (spread them out, because it would really suck to get nothing but Traps)- this is equivalent to 6 boosters worth of cards- and I then give them the names those numbers correspond to. Then, once we have at minimum 8 people (we can support up to 17 so I can delay for reserves and such), I reveal all cards that people have chosen, to give you an idea of what to expect when you're Deck-building. Then, you guys challenge one another on DP, and the winner gets 2 cards:1) Any card that was in the Graveyard at the end of the Duel (note: this can be used to get additional copies of cards in your own Deck, because everything at the beginning will be at 1- it's as if you only own 1 copy of each card)2) Any Konami Extra Deck card [because I've removed all of them] OR one Custom Card I've created [i can offer a sample catalog if you don't wanna jump through my topics, and there are some I won't offer due to the fact that I know they're broken] I figure that this is a really interesting way to get unconventional Deck builds going, and I'm genuinely curious what you'll come up with. Before anyone asks, because I own quite a few banned cards, Traditional format (all banned cards are treated as Limited instead) Any questions, please feel free to ask (although, for obvious reasons, I won't reveal any cards' positions in the list). As to if I'll be Dueling, well . . . I'm planning on introducing bosses to allow Main Deck cards I either cut or don't own to enter the pool. More on that as I fine-tune it. Draconus297 Posted November 8, 2015 Author Report Share Posted November 8, 2015 Alright, I finally figured out a way to do bosses, and the first two will be Pegasus (because the unlucky schmuck who gets Toon World with no Toons got one of the few completely dead cards in the pool, so I want to give the opportunity to obtain Toons) and Sora (because he's confirmed to own Polymerization and 4 different generic Fusion supports [Conscription, Recovery, Instant, and Future], and seeing as there are no Fusion cards in here it will be impossible for anyone to play Fusions if I don't). Bosses will use archetype Decks and start with a whopping 12000 Life Points, but you can enter a chain with up to 2 other people to take on a boss. When one challenger loses, another of the trio takes over until either the boss is beaten or all 3 challengers are defeated. If you got passed to, anything that was on the boss's field and in their hand at the end of the last Duel will still be there [excepting cards stolen via Frightfurs Bear or Chimera, or the effect of Comic Hand], but anything in their Graveyard will be returned their Deck, and anything banished is now in their Graveyard. Any Life Point damage the boss took will remain (so failed OTK attempts can help your friends), and each new challenger starts fresh. At the end, if they won, all 3 challengers can select a card from the Graveyard at the end of any of the 3 attempts (so keep track), but only the one who dealt the final blow gets the free Konami Extra Deck card. By doing a couple surveys off this site (where everyone can and will check the wiki at a moment's notice), I found that it is required to run Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon, Dragon Capture Jar, Relinquished, and Jigen Bakudan. It's mostly going to be a Toon Deck, but I can't call it a Pegasus Deck without the cards everyone remembers him using. Surprisingly, out of a survey of 50, only 3 recalled seeing Thousand-Eyes Restrict, and 1 Thousand-Eyes Idol. Meaning I can get away with leaving them out.YES.
