Super Quantum Mecha Lord Great Magnus

Recommended Posts

Doesn't look good in pepe at all. Even in context of OCG, shock master/naturia beast already exists to time walk the opponent.

I can't say very much about the deck since I only have the card text to form an opinion, but it looks like the deck is only capable of making 1 or 2 Xyz per turn because Alphon + Field Spell + 2 cards can potentially bring out 2 pilots and zords(green quantum could be a bridge for Pepe as its a level 4 spellcaster but I don't think the field spell will be played). The field spell looks like it patched the deck together, late game is where Magnus comes up unless u have the hand (you might need etele to get Blue out and complete the trio if you want 6 material Magnus).

As for Kaijus, just wait for the Yellow / Pink pilot that makes anything with it at Xyz Material immune to tributing ;)

You know there are Sentai/Power Ranger teams with only 3 members, right? Ninja Storm and DinoThunder.

It's entirely possible this trio is all we're getting... unless there's a pair of Pends with Scale 3/7.

How exactly do you beat this (not solemning)

Kill the field spell?

  • Kill the Field Spell so it can't come out (though this gets run in triples, so worry about that)
  • Make Magnus burn up its 4th Xyz Mat, so it no longer has protection from other card effects.
  • Tech Aeroboros as a R4 option and flip it face-down, or if you can make Liger in R5, just blow up Magnus yourself with it. (As VCR mentioned, two of the cards that make up this card ironically can screw it over later)
  • Run it over in battle
  • Tribute it somehow (Stormforth, Kaiju, Lava Golem, etc)

As for getting this out, still takes a bit of time to pull off.

After a few rounds of testing, fastest I can get this out is maybe turn 2 or 3 at best, assuming I can search everything and get discard fodder to pay for the costs.

It is a pain in the neck to deal with once it is out, yes, but making it in the first place takes a sizable amount of effort.

Options 3 and 5 might be the easiest ways to deal with it, though.

I completely forgot that Aeroboros was generic.

Although wouldn't they chain the shuffle effect in response to the summon (might be my lack of speed spell knowledge so pls tell me if they can).

That and since it's effect doesn't become quick play unless you have green under it.

not entirely true. Dino Thunder and Ninja Storm both started with just 3 but in the end had a 5-6 team

Ninja Storm had Earth,Wind,Water to start then gain +2 from the Thunder brothers, then a +1 from Green Samurai

Dino Thunder had Red,Yellow, and Blue. Then they got Black and finally White.

They could also go the SPD route and make...

Red, Blue, Yellow,Pink,Green,Cat(orange), Shadow(black), Omega(white), Nova(Silver)

Yeah, Aeroboros isn't generic unless you have Green as an Xyz mat, and is otherwise the same as Castel's 1 mat detach effect.

As for the bounce effect, they can chain since Magnus's 2 mat effect is SS2 (can be used during either turn), whereas Aero is 1 unless you have Green.

Aero would go back to the Deck, but Magnus should still be flipped face-down though if you do.

(Might be off on this though, but looking at the page on Spell Speeds, this appears to be the case)

Just watched a very intense duel with quantum and kaiju/hands/golem etc. Quantum almost wrecked it all the way, the guy did have great hand as he made another 4 material magnus just 2 turns after the 1st one got kaiju'd, then the guy flipped restrict and everything went wrong from there and the kaiju user rage quitted saying "damn these robots"

Like, all the ham. Enough to make sandwiches each day for a month.

Your only hopes in dealing with this card are to just snipe the Field Spell at first opportunity (Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell comes to mind; has an additional bonus of hampering their plays for the rest of the game) or Kaiju this damn thing (but cue Mask of Restrict).

Or play the game on a totally different axis that this card's effect immunity can't work on. Dimension Wall only alters the recipient of battle damage and ignores effect immunity of the relevant monster, for example. Honest can still beat this thing if the opponent didn't extinguish your LIGHT monsters to avoid running into it.

If they actually run the super sword with this, Horakhty help you.

That's really just a Quantam build using the already "splashable" Performapal engine.

Well the deck has only been out in Japan for like a day now? It went 13-0 which is commendable IMO..esp when you look at the competition it had.

6 Mat Magnus is basically GG and the Pals make it easy to do. If it turns into a real threat people will just side Lava Golemn and Ra like they did to deal with Law-Infinity, Shock-Infinity, and Shock-Raff-Infinity last format
