The Nyx Avatar
Because, there aren't a lot of those. LORE:2 Level 3 monstersThis card's original ATK and DEF are equal to the number of banished cards x 4600. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; banish 1 card on the field until your next Standby Phase. When this card is banished (except by its own effect): You can target 1 monster on the field; destroy it.
♪ ♪Aria ♪ ♪
This card is useful against almost invincible monsters (cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects) and is easy to pull of, making it effective as a deadlock breaker...plus it can also banish spell cards which is useful for removing one of the opponent's trump cards.. Flash Flyer - Sakura
This card can get powerful late game if used in conjunction with other cards that banish (i.e. Macro Cosmos, Dark Law, etc), but otherwise it's not really going to be that great of an R3 option, due to low stats otherwise. It is still useful for bouncing cards that can't die via card effects or battle, so suppose one could use it as a hypothetical counter against stuff like 'specters, Monarchs or something (for whatever that's worth). Or yes, bouncing S/T cards. Question is, whether or not that alone is enough to warrant a slot in the Extra Deck as an R3 option in Decks that can afford it (though there's only a handful of viable generic R3s anyway.) I'd probably change the monster destruction effect to trigger when it gets destroyed, as opposed to banished. Right now, unless you indeed have it banished via Macro or another option, I don't see it triggering much at present. Maybe as a self-trigger against opposing Dark Law or something? The Nyx Avatar
The stats being too low kinda hurt this. It'd be a nice generic alternative for Junk Archer for those decks that don't play Junk Synchron, but the low stats kinda ruin it.What if I brought it up to 500? Or 1000? Or would that be too much? Jjtuxtron
I think this card is good with burning abyss, because it can combo with barbar. banish 3 BA from grave, inflict 900 and make this card attack 1200. it will be better if you increase the amount of ATK and DEF, for example 700 x banished card. The Nyx Avatar
I think the variable stats aren't really necessary. Why not just give her 1800 ATK at base? This is why.
The Nyx Avatar
...To make her vulnerable to Ragna Zero? Why would you need to make her vulnerable to Ragna Zero? No; by making her original ATK 1800, the effect will be treated as ATK increase, rather than original ATK. Flash Flyer - Sakura
At present, this card's ATK/DEF boost is pretty much the same as another card that doesn't get played, whose name I don't remember at present. But you can afford to buff its stat gain a bit; 500-600 might be fine. Draconus297
That other card you're thinking of is "Chaos Necromancer", whose ATK is equal to 300 times the number of banished cards. I think it might even be Level 3, usable Material for this. In any case, I rather like it. Chaos Decks are frothing at the mouth.
Flash Flyer - Sakura
Necromancer deals with the Graveyard, not banished cards. But yeah, it's Level 3 though. Was thinking more of this: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Gren_Maju_Da_Eiza(Oh wait, this card only deals with YOUR banished cards; not that of the opponent, but still Level 3 though) Indeed, Chaos decks can certainly play with this; if they have room to make it.Don't know how they function nowadays, but I don't recall R3 as one of their strategies (or the use of Levair).
