Flame Dragon
New week means more spoilers. Starting with Overwhelming Denial Instant Surge UU (You may cast this spell for its surge cost if you or a teammate has cast another spell this turn.) Overwhelming Denial can't be coutered by spells for abilities. Counter target spell.
Tesability Black
...welp, this makes for an interesting sign regarding how my dad's birthday's gonna turn out today... If only I could get a better picture so I can tell what's dropping the F-you on...well, I think that's Ulamog...
Flame Dragon
I think thats just one of his spawn. Some of them are VERY big. In general I'm curious about the Ulamog spawn since we've been told this is Cosi's set and won't have Ula's mechanics. As for this card, its kind of nuts. Though I have a question, if it goes 1 You: Cast Spell 2 Them: Counter 1 3 You: This countering 2 Can they go 4 Them: Counter 1 again? I feel like this is suppose to be a counter spell to let you protect your stuff, but they can still just counter what ever it is you were trying to cast again if my understanding of the rules is right. Though always countering their stuff is sweet.

Rodrigo
Embodiment of Insight 4GCreature - Elemental (U)VigilanceLand creatures you control have vigilance.Landfall — Whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control, you may have target land you control become a 3/3 Elemental creature with haste until end of turn. It's still a land.4/
~Faytl~
Cool. Oath of Gideon actually synergizes really well with the newest Gideon card; :ets you drop his emblem wthout him dying and the kor you just threw out get buffed. I like that. Super Friends decks continue to get crazy from this set.

Rodrigo
Sifter of skulls looks so good but i still dont know how this <> mana works. It's the colorless mana symbol. Can only be paid by sources that produce specifically colorless mana, like most artifacts (Hedron Archive for example). Cannot be paid with a basic land's mana except Wastes, and cards like Mana Confluence cannot generate colorless mana.

The fact that Scions that said {1} in their text in BFZ now have <> should hopefully tip you off.

Rodrigo
I don't get it. Have Zulaport Cutthroat and Eldrazi Displacer in play. Cast Brood Monitor, it produces 3 tokens. Sacrifice those 3 tokens to generate three colorless mana and to trigger Zulaport Cutthroat three times. Use the colorless mana you produced to activate Displacer's ability, exiling Brood Monitor and returning it to play, generating 3 more tokens. Rinse and repeat. Poc
Oath of Gideon is pretty meh, 3 mana for 2 1/1s is not good value. Displacer is interesting, its like a somewhat cheaper dead eye navigator that can flicker your opponents stuff too. Like hangarback walkers. The counterspell is neat but I can't see it being played too much in modern. It's a nice piece to protect a combo but for control or tempo decks it doesn't really work the way you'd want it to. Sixty
+ + GG this is a very real deck that i want to build for standard for a while. also you can do this in draft, if you're really lucky. also very excited for sifter. a bigger pawn of ulamog is rad. the new counterspell miffs me a little for the same reason as the sphinx. where'd all the interactivity go? Flame Dragon
Did Abzan really need a combo like this? You need to play Brood Monitor. I think we're safe. i'd play GWB edh just for this Abzan EDH has so many stupid infinites. I love the color combo. + + GG This makes me happy. Anyway, thoughts Embodiment of Insight seems really good. Vigilance is an amazing ability to give to your guys. I also like how since they couldn't make Awaken a mechanic in this set they made landfall triggers that did. Wonder if this is a cycle or just in the landfall colors. Sifter is sweet. Play right in my favorite space of "does stuff when things die". Not sure if it will end up good enough in standard, but I'mma hope. Oath of Gideon is meh. They extra loyalty will rarely be super important I think. Especially since I'm most interested in them for commander. Wish it made 3 1/1s. Displacer seems fun. Also a 3 mana 3/3 is perfectly good. Salvo seems ok. Curious how many things 4 damage misses. Assault seems like a fun build around in limited. Killing creatures is pretty big. BONE SAW IS COMING!!!! Also, we got the other 2 in the ally duel cycle. Still tilted its an ally cycle and not enemy. The article doesn't even explain why it is ally. Also Mark said in today's article that we'll be seeing more Oaths as time goes on. Neat.

Tesability Black
And since there are allies that have effects that benefit from multiple triggers...yeah, those tokens are a little more valuable than one may believe, even if they are 1/1s.
