Dad, am I your favorite? Or at least in the top 5?

Hmm.  Good question.  To be honest, I've never established a top five.  I think I should.

Aw shucks dad, I'd be all sorts of blushing if not for all the fur all over my face.

Don't worry.  I know you care, and that's what matters to me <3

Are you proud of me?

Also seriousish. How do you feel about my writing and character making?

1.)  Yes I'm proud of you <3

2.)  I like your writing and character creation.  I can always try to guess the character you'll create, but you somehow have managed to surprise me quite a bit.

What's your opinion on rap music?

I love hip-hop (there's a reason it's my spouse <3).  I've grown up on it, and it's heavily influenced me as a person.  But as a whole, there's a lot about rap/hip-hop that needs work.

It feels stagnant.  Boring.  Stale.  The commercial rapping is not something I enjoy.  Money, cars, clothes, hoes.  I'm tired of it.  But thankfully, there's a lot of up and coming artists who still have a lot to say.  And I look forward to their influence on the game.

Thoughts on Eminem, and his influence on hip-hop in general.

Also, how did you feel about his first loss?

Eminem has (since his early days and his discovery and pick-up by Dre) had a great influence on hip-hop.  With multiple styles and the ability to fluently traverse from one style to another, he's a very diverse artist.  He can chop, freestyle, sing, spit horrorcore, and so much more.  And while I wouldn't put him in my top 5, he easily makes my top 10.  He's had a lot of success and he's had a few blunders.  I'd say (in my opinion) that his best album is the Marshall Mathers LP.  Maybe second to Slim Shady LP.

But it's undeniable that his influence on hip-hop has spurred a lot of today's artists.  Some of my own favorites come to mind, and they speak on Eminem's greatness themselves.  From Tech N9ne to Logic, Flawless, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Tyler the Creator, Drake, Hopsin, MGK, B.o.B, and even Chance the Rapper.  Eminem has been cited as a great influence.

As far as his first loss goes, it wasn't his last.  But that's why I like Em.  He hasn't died out.  I'm not gonna like every track he puts out--I actually dislike Rap God a lot--but I will say that a lot of his losses have translated to huge sales for him, and allowed him to spit on some fire tracks in the aftermath of the loss.  So you take the good with the bad, and the bad with the worse--that's a Bad Meets Evil reference by the way--and you get Eminem.  And when I say bad with the worse, I don't mean "oh, Em's tracks got bad and then got worse" (save for Relapse).  What I mean is, Eminem is the type of rapper who has had flops, but has turned them into the biggest turn arounds in what could quite possibly be the entire industry of hip-hop.
