1st card

Well here's my first card, attempted to make a creative and effective burn/fire support.

If a card effect that does Effect Damage is activated, you can discard this card from your hand: Increase the Effect Damage done by 1000. When your opponent takes Effect Damage from a card effect, you can Special Summon this card from your Graveyard, then destroy 1 monster your opponent controls. The effects of "Ancient Fire Pit Keeper" can only be used once per turn.

dear god chain burn. the effect, level, and stats are all nice, but doubling burn damage is something that i cannot approve of on principle.

the cards made well enough, it passes on a creation scale as something konami would release, but i just cant get behind burn damage support. so good card, but it supports my second least favorite playstyle, so i can't help but hate it.

Thanks for review, so you're only against the idea of doubling burn damage ? So does that mean it's balanced and not overpowered because of it

it's balanced even with the double burn, it takes up hand advantage, and the average deck that can use this aside from chain burn doesn't do enough burn damage via spell/trap to make it overpowering. it has a hard OPT so it can't be stacked or repeatedly used, meaning it's good, but not too good. the potential to brick balances out the potential to jank your opponent into submission.

Any general thoughts about the card itself? (A reminder that you still have to give either a remark on usability or general opinion on the card when you critique stuff in this section under the AC; via1ne is fine though).

i cant really critique it because i cant think of a few cards that work really well with it (so i cant say if i think its good or not), so im asking about what cards he was thinking this would go with.

Doubling burn damage is really potent in the right Deck, however each effect of this card looks designed for entirely different burn styles.

The first effect is most effective with Chain Burn. Pushing Just Desserts to do up to 5000 damage at one shot while adding a Chain link is the stuff of my dreams as a Chain Burn player. In burn-lock, you're doing too little over too long and won't get a lot of mileage out of this.

The second effect is more effective in burn-lock, which is more likely to run FIRE monsters that do damage. Chain Burn has Lava Golem, yes, but that's not a monster you control by the time it's doing effect damage.

So, first effect is really strong by greatly reducing the effort of Chain Burn, second effect is designed for a very weak Deck that would just curl up and die when exposed to anything in the meta. It's very... polarizing. I greatly recommend you tone down the strength of the first effect.

the new effect is a lot more... fair i'd say. 1000 is significant additional burn damage, but it no longer makes things like ceasefire, just desserts, and chain strike into 4k+ bun cards. the second effect isn't all that bad, and unless i'm mistaken, the way it's worded means i hits upon resolution and does not target. so it'd be great against decks like kozmo.
