Lost legacy is a pretty interesting and flexible card. It works as a cranial extraction when you want it to (Emrakul) or a draw 4 if you use it on yourself. Or be really greasy and use it in a shadowborn apostle deck.

Aether hub is some solid limited color fixing. If energy becomes important in standard it could see constructed play too.

It only draws a card per card exiled from hand. They made sure that it wouldn't give Apostle decks too much power.

 

Kambal seems really hilarious if you can drop it first turn in a vintage game, before they drop all their moxes, but I can't say I'm too impressed with it in any other context.

 

the energy land feels like a better Tendo Ice Bridge. Not strictly better and quite dependent on support, but I think energy counters will end up a stronger concept than charge counters.

Not sure what to make of lost legacy. These type of cards often end up in the side board, but giving them back cards if they have copies in hand is a pretty big nerf to this kind of effect.

 

Karlov got a new friend. Not sure how good he'll be in standard though.

We also got a cycle of common creatures that ETB for 2 Energy and can use the 2 for a +1/+1 counter when they attack.

A 3 mana Cranial extraction is 1000x more playable than a 4 mana one. Decks that use one specific card to go off (scapeshift, ad naseum) usually have their power play on turn 4. Although these decks are few and far between in modern. In standard its a fine replacement for infinite obliteration since emrakul will still probably be the best creature in standard. The card disadvantage from it is a non issue if you can neuter their whole win condition with one card.

 

Also, this set has 3/5 enemy colored legendaries. All that's left is G/B and U/R. Yes Sahili is U/R but in DGM there was Ral'Zarek and a U/R maze runner. If they finish the cycle hopefully we finally get a proper artifact based U/R legendary instead of another LOLSTORM creature.

Lost Legacy's kinda fun in Standard with Eternal Scourge. You essentially "draw 4" as all 4 copies of Scourge you exile are in 'your hand', and you get additional draw from any you exiled from hand. Obviously super janky, but it's not far off from being powerful enough.
