The Nyx Avatar
Probably would have made more sense to post this topic in October, or even during the Halloween event. Though, the idea didn't occur to me until afterwards. For this thread, discuss or share what the scariest game you've played or scariest gaming experience. Mine: [spoiler=Show] Most people say that Resident Evil isn't really a horror game; scariest part being the fixed camera angles and controls. However, what this game has over the first one is the atmosphere. The characters weren't a team uncovering missing people in a mansion. It was a police officer and a woman looking for her brother. And the music helped enhance the feeling of loneliness and potential danger.
Snatch Steal
Pumkin Online English Course/Pumkin World. Not grotesque, but disturbing enough to make you wonder what kind of diabolical minds put it together.

The Nyx Avatar
Pumkin Online English Course/Pumkin World. Not grotesque, but disturbing enough to make you wonder what kind of diabolical minds put it together. It looks like a pumpkin got mixed with a troll face. Yume Nikki. I love this game, but good god does it get unsettling. It looks trippy at some points, and in others, it looks unsettling. And the music helps further enforce that. Like this track for example: [spoiler=Show] The ending(s) is/are also kind of dark. Not to mention the design of some of the characters, like Monoko. Going into the game, you don't expect these themes of unease.

Icy
Oddly enough "Metal Gear Solid" was the game that got me to cry in fear when I was younger. I have no idea why it scared me so much. Honestly.

The Nyx Avatar
You'd be quite surprised...[spoiler Especially if you had to deal with THIS for a final boss]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rS-vu3ZgYDI It's no Giygas, but I can see why you'd find it scary. I used to find the Shadow Queen from Paper Mario eerie.Oddly enough "Metal Gear Solid" was the game that got me to cry in fear when I was younger. I have no idea why it scared me so much. Honestly.Maybe it was those stealth moments when you got caught by the enemy.Which game in the series?Perhaps he's referring to the one on PlayStation (1). Icy
Maybe it was those stealth moments when you got caught by the enemy. Nah. I distinctly remember even the snorkling section at the start freaking me out. No enemies or anything. Couldn't take it. Cried and stopped playing. On the second day, he sees you and is after you, so you have to hide from him, until he does himself in by accident. Only to face him the day after in a boss fight. Icy
Then it must have been Metal Gear Solid 2, where Raiden was underwater. Raiden is eye candy, I'd be having the time of my life if that was the case. It was definitely MGS1 at the very very start of the game.
Lee Cheng Men
Another reason that makes me scared of Haunting Ground is the purple-haired maid. She doesn't seem like a bad guy at first, not until I defeated the big guy. http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/clocktower/images/9/9a/DanielaHeadbash.gif/revision/latest?cb=20150720084230She begins repeatedly bashing her head against a window and breaking it, then she takes a glass shard from the shattered window, cutting and bleeding her palms, and begins pursuing me with it throughout the castle. In the scene before her boss fight, she did something that pretty disturbing...http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/clocktower/images/b/b6/DLick.gif/revision/latest?cb=20150824092402
