And thus Black Fang Magician becomes several times better, not to mention this card protects Pendulum Scales and makes the summoning conditions for Zarc far easier.

I am not so sure about that, considering this would be a very expensive way of replacing peasant, not to mention there is no need not to play both, however I do agree that this makes peasant far less important.

That card's still awesome, and it's the only good lowscale the deck has. It lets you get back Tune and Wisdom-Eye, as well as niche scenarios, and is all around not even comparable to this card.

 

As for the card, I'm just unsure.

 

You're -2ing on magicians in order to find another one... sure, you can find Astro/Chrono Sorcs, but the issue remains that this card still permanently cost you 2 dudes. You're most likely making it with Tune Magician, which means your search for another Tune Magician (the likely optimal search) is more of the same.

 

It's definitely good as an option, and drumping Nobledragon for using Black Fang/Iris is nice, but I just wonder how often you'd actually go into it. 

 

EDIT: This doesn't make peasant any less important, because you still need him to get back the best cards, and there's often 2 cards you'd want to add back at once (Tune/Wisdom).

However Black Fang is a highly searchable monster, which keeps floating into a (+1) (and triggers itself in the pendulum zone) does requires XYZ Summons to keep doing so, not to mention this adds a purpose to Light Wing Magician as soon as it gets Pendulum Summoned. Though I do agree Peasant and this serve different purposes (not to mention Peasant is more or less free), considering searching from the deck advances the gamestate and regeneration with Peasant keeps the current Potential up.

So, in addition to the new Magicians, you can also use Dragonpulse, Wisdom-Eye and Xiangsheng, huh.

I like the searching scope of the first effect, and how it can mill any Spellcaster. Those effects make me think Shaddolls would have fun with this, although I cannot picture at the moment how they can feasibly access this. Instead, Shaddolls as techs in a Magician deck may be effective to a certain degree.

1.) Well, one does have Iris and/or perhaps a teched Pendulum Wizard, however Peasant can retrieve them as well. 2.) Though I do agree on it taking some time to regenerate these cards, so it is not always an alright play. 3.) As for White Wing ... in case one actually wants to summon Zarc (assuming he is any good) it being in the Graveyard is enough, so there would be no need to recycle it over other targets (considering a spare peasant is enough and white wing is by far the worst out of the 4 dragon substitute magicians), furthermore Tune Magician can do the same, ending up difficult to retrieve, however not gone for good.
