Monarch King
2 Level 4 monstersBanished monsters cannot be Special Summoned, except "D.D." monsters. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 card in your opponent's Graveyard; banish it face-down, then, you can Special Summon 1 banished "D.D." monster. The Nyx Avatar
In keeping with most other D.D. cards, it's nice to see this one revolve around banished cards, too. However, I'm sure the first effect will hurt them as D.D. would prefer the option to Special Summon. I don't think it'd hurt balance that much if it said "Your opponent Special Summon banished monsters". The second effect is cute; allowing you to banish cards face-down (well, if they hit the Graveyard that is). As it is now, it feels a little empty, or at least counter-intuative (due to the first effect).
AL2X
I t's better if the effect goes like this:Neither player can Special Summon monsters that are banished except "D.D." monsters. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 card in your opponent's Graveyard; banish it, face-down. just a comment though. Sleepy
I guess there's some utility in banishing face-down cards that already made it into the Graveyard, plus it's a quick effect, plus it has more of a body of its own.I'm comparing it with Number 80, who is smaller, not quick, and banishes face-up. Though, Number 80 is usually fine banishing face-up, lacks a "once per turn" clause to it, boosts other Xyzs, and has support in the form of its upgrade that banishes from the field. I think there are pros and cons, but overall it still feels lacking a little. On top of the suggestions above about changing the first effect from locking all banished revival to locking all banished revival except "D.D." monsters, I'd also like to suggest that whenever you banish something from the opponent, it gives you the option of reviving a banished "D.D." monster. The effect would look something like this: Banished monsters cannot be Special Summoned, except "D.D." monsters. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 card in your opponent's Graveyard; banish it face-down. Then, you can Special Summon 1 banished "D.D." monster.
Monarch King
Thank you all for your suggestions. I changed the eff so that banished monsters cannot be Special Summoned except D.D. monsters. Also I added the "you can Special Summon 1 banished D.D. monster" clause after the banish eff. Good ideas guys :)
Darj
Card looks good. Banishing and summoning a banished D.D. may like too much card advantage for a single effect at first glance, but it's D.D. monsters we are speaking of so, it should be fine. Would be nice if you included "Different Dimension" monsters in its effects as well, since basically they are D.D.s as well; or rather, it's vice-versa: D.D.s are Different Dimension monsters. If anything, I would prefer if this card had either stat at 2200 or higher, to better sustain its lock effect.
