Malefic Paradoxical Reflection
[Normal Spell]


Target 1 "Malefic" monster you control; Special Summon 1 banished monster whose listed on the targeted monster, ignoring the Summoning condition. The Summoned monster's effects are negated. You can only activate 1 "Malefic Paradoxical Reflection" per turn.

I suppose this helps Malefic decks actually maintain something on the field, should their fields get popped or something. Blue-Eyes and Red-Eyes don't care about the ignore conditions, but other stuff like Stardust, Cyber End and Rainbow Dragon do. But yeah, for the ED stuff, you will need to force the summon to be correct b/c of Konami rulings (at least you can revive them later). For what it's worth, I guess Xyz setup as well if you really need to (either this or walling purposes).

 

Card is technically fine; Malefics aren't going to be breaking the meta at any point in time.

The card text bugs me, and I feel it can be better, but not sure how to improve it at the moment. Maybe something like "Special Summon 1 banished monster listed on the targeted monster", like with the Dark Magician support cards, or something among those lines.

 

Also keep in mind that due to BKSS rulings you still won't be able to Summon a banished Stardust or Malefic End Dragon if it wasn't properly Synchro or Fusion Summoned first, respectively. You may have to add clauses like (This Special Summon is treated as a Synchro/Fusion Summon).

 

Card text aside, the card is fine to me; at worst is a backup in case you lose your Malefic frontline, or you can also make a quick Rank7, 8 or 10 with it.

It's cute, and let's you control more than one monster (well, that is if you have more of a pure Malefic Deck). However, it feels a little empty. Sure, you may be able to set up some Xyz plays, but even so, that can only get you so far. I think you could give it a Graveyard effect where it self banishes to affect one of your Malefic monster (perhaps negating their effect(s) and giving them protection or ATK increase), or recovery/adding of another Malefic or Field Spell. Maybe not exactly those effects, but that's kind of the idea.
