Ratpier Errata Ideas

This was a couple of ideas that I had for Ratpier that could potentially bring him off the limited list. Please tell me what you think. Changes are in parenthesis 

 

ORIGINAL

If this card is Normal Summoned: You can send 1 "Zoodiac" card from your Deck to the Graveyard. An Xyz Monster whose original Type is Beast-Warrior and has this card as Xyz Material gains this effect.

● Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Special Summon 1 "Zoodiac Ratpier" from your hand or Deck.

 

ERRATA 1

If this card is Normal Summoned: You can send 1 "Zoodiac" card from your Deck to the Graveyard. An Xyz Monster whose original Type is Beast-Warrior and has this card as Xyz Material gains this effect.

● Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Special Summon 1 "Zoodiac Ratpier" from your hand or Deck.

(You can only Special Summon “Zoodiac Ratpier” with this effect once per turn.)

 

ERRATA 2

If this card is Normal Summoned: You can send 1 "Zoodiac" card from your Deck to the Graveyard. (If this card is detached from an Xyz monster to activate that monster’s effect, banish this card.) An Xyz Monster whose original Type is Beast-Warrior and has this card as Xyz Material gains this effect.

● Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Special Summon 1 "Zoodiac Ratpier" from your hand or Deck.

How about make it so it Special Summons another Zoodiac monster from your Deck, except Ratpier? That way you can limit it and not go through the pain of becoming unplayable.

 

Either way limiting it to Beast Warriors is a bit redundant now since Daigusto Emeral got banned, although could probably balance it a little bit. The OPT clause could also work, but idk if it'll be that effective at stopping Ratpier from being spectacular.

Honestly speaking, Konami could've just put a limiter on how many times you could detach / spam summon it and card would've been okay. You can still get extra Xyz out, but just one per turn instead of three. Summoning another Zoodiac would've been fine too; you'd just have to deal with handling a potential Zoodiac with Thoroughblade / Whiptail as material; latter is the more concerning. 

But that being said, you can't really change the Xyz condition since it's the signature condition for all the Main Deck members.

To be fair, Konami could've released this with effect 1 and we wouldn't have to errata it. Would need to see how that'd go.

I would go for #1, but put the OPT Summon clause on Ratpier itself, rather than the effect. That is, making Ratpier Special Summonable only once per turn, like Denglong's. That way the swarming is severely cut, and will lock Ratpier even if it is Special Summoned by Barrage, etc.
