Immortal Body

Quick-play Spell Card

Target 1 Monster you control, until the End Phase this turn, the targeted Monster cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects and battle damage you take involving the targeted card becomes 0. When an opponents Monster attacks directly, you can banish this card from your GY; battle damage you take from the attacking Monster becomes 0 that turn.

 

So Immortal Body acts as a alternative to Half shut where this card is full on Monster and LP protection where in any deck can act to help protect your LP and your Monsters in order for you to progress with your decks game mechanics.

Not a bad or essentially game-breaking card, though it just feels like a powercrept version of Half Shut. This card is a good alternative to protecting a single monster for the turn from pretty much anything, bar a few exceptions. My only concern with this card is that it makes OTKs even harder to stop if your opponent is relying on a single monster to slap you. That's just a personal gripe though, since I'm not a fan of OTKs in general, others may feel differently. All in all, a strong card that works as a double-layer of protection.

It is kind of a better Waboku. Live as you draw it, protects the same way plus from effect destruction, and overall welcomed by Gladiator Beasts.

The bonus GY Kuriboh is also welcomed. Though it being only for direct attacks means it is only live after you got your field wiped.

 

Kind of stall-ish, but on the upside, getting rid of the monster through non-destruction removal allows for damage to be inflicted, and it is only in effect on 1 monster at a time.

 

It is an ok protection, with decent outs and buys you the turn you need. I like it.
