Thunder/Link/Effect

2 Thunder monsters

Once per turn, if this card is Linked to a monster: You can Normal Summon 1 LIGHT Thunder-Type monster from your hand, as an additional Normal Summon. When a Thunder monster is Normal Summoned to a zone this card points to: Add 1 LIGHT Thunder monster with 1600 or less ATK from your Deck or GY to your hand, but that monster, and monsters with the same name, cannot be used as Link Material for the rest of the turn. You can only use this effect of "Elhunder" once per turn.

1600

[spoiler=zzz]Design is meant to mimic the designs of Link monsters such as Heavymetalfoes Electrumite, Aromaseraphy Jasmine, Inzektor Picofarena, Subterror Behemoth Fiendess, and so on, with rewards for achieving a general archetypal and/or type-based goal. In this case, it's getting you resources to further your gameplay, though only certain sets of

You can chain multiples for the ability to further NS, but that's a -1 extra NS each time. Useful for extending, definitely, but burns you out just as quick.

Wording also means that you can use the extra NS while in the MMZ, because something can point to it instead of being pointed to.

ATK Restriction on the search is as much for balance as it is flavor, because finding Rai-Oh or Denko Sekka and then putting them out seems really funking mean.

It might end up a little on the strong side, but I'm willing to take that chance. I wanted to put some sort of restriction on the search, but everything seemed a bit... off. So I opted with just restricting their usage as Link mats, seeing as it already rules out the power options aside from 9V.

In the end, it's support for a theme that is naturally meant to swarm, but it doesn't fix the burnout issues. It also has utility in other decks, so it';s not strictly hunder.

Neither Sekka nor TKRO are that crazy anymore. Esp not Sekka given the general demise of traps

You're under the word requirement for this section, Winter, so flesh this out a bit more. (Reminder that you need 30+ words for singles; this is about half and isn't really saying much about this card in application, and only about two major ones that aren't good but above this card's search/retrieval limit)

(Note that I only briefly glanced at the spoiler)

Barring the obvious "hunder" support to increase the effect triggers from their own effects (and I guess provide Xyz/Link fodder for them), only other Thunder Deck that's generally relevant enough nowadays for competition is probably Batteryman. Unsure on how much they really need the help (even with Solar being released now), but I suppose it does give them added field presence and retrieval when needed.

Though yeah, outside Seahorse, the 'hunders and most of the aforementioned Archetype, not too many relevant targets that can be searched [looking at the list]; least it can return itself so its markers are live again, so I suppose that's nice. I would probably say you could increase the ATK cap a bit to 1800, so you can get Denko, but not Rai-oh given the anti-searching / SS negation. Flavor-wise, Sis does cap it at 1600, so...you would be breaking flavor if you pushed the search/retrieve limit up.

As-is, I'm not seeing much that would need to be improved; the increased stat limit on the search is a suggestion/not needed to make the card any better. It's ultimately your decision if you want Denko to be retrievable with this card in light of the game straying from backrow dependency and her own effect being less of a threat.

It's effectively SSing them from deck. Even if they're not super crazy, I don't think it's a fair design space. Lightning Rod Lord also exists. There's nothing wrong with being a bit cautious.

Even if hitting them was a fair design space, I'd either scrap the stat cap altogether or leave it as-is, due to said flavor. I wanted it to feel as authentic as possible, and I think I largely achieved that... So changing the theme set by Seahorse and Sis (which is technically akin to monarch/megamonarch/vassal) would ruin it a bit.

Nice card, IMO. Solid support for Thunders ans goes on theme with Hunders and Seahorse. I think it's fine if it cannot grab Rod Lord, Denko Rai-Oh, etc. I would say they aren't searchable by Sishunder and Seahorse for a reason. It can still grab Mustung, for whatever that's worth.

I also like how Kaminari Attack is available a Thunder target for IF to assist with summoning this card or enabling its first effect.
