Darj
Through Blaze & FlamesQuick-Play SpellActivate 1 of these effects;• This turn, the effects of your opponent's FIRE monsters on the field are negated.• This turn, the effects of your opponent's FIRE monsters in the GY, or that are banished, are negated. You can banish this card from your GY: Add 1 card that has an effect that reduces, reverses or redirects damage you would take from card effects, or negates an effect that would inflict damage to you, from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Through Blaze & Flames" once per turn. Testing the waters with this card because it's a counter for FIREs, and I'm aware these kind of cards are frowned upon and discouraged, but who knows, maybe it's deemed acceptable as a meta call card, IDK, especially after the resurgence of Infernoids with the neo-Diabolos support. Plus I'm using a couple of experimental words here as I will explain below. I got the idea from a prompt in one of the "Make a card" games, although I was beat to it way before I settled on the effect for the card. Now, about the card:The first effect is straightforward, a full negation blanket vs. FIREs. The "(anywhere)" PSCT is to make clear it will stop the effects of FIREs in the GY, hand, banished in addition to the field, so this should stop cards like Ash Blossom. It shouldn't stop Infernoids from Summoning themselves form the GY through their inherent conditions, though. The second effect is to give it extra value and make it valuable even when not facing FIREs. That way it is not an only FIRE counter and nothing else. Note that the GY has no 1-turn stun as other cards do, so you can get it in the GY through Foolish Burial Goods for the search right away.As for cards it can grab, "reduces, reverses or redirects damage you would take from card effects" includes cards like Des Wombat, Prime Material Dragon and Barrel Behind the Door, respectively. I tried to cover as many anti-burn effects as possible. The "negates an effect that would inflict damage to you" search range should be more intuitive. It lets it grab stuff like Clear Kuriboh, Junkuriboh and, more notably, Damage Juggler. Thoughts?

Sleepy
I don't like that "anywhere" clause to it. Other than Infernoid inherent Summon clauses, this can end a FIRE theme's turn outright (not that those decks exist since the Solar Flare Dragon days, but still). I wouldn't mind it so much if it was just for field or from GY (and the card had you choose). From GY it stops Volcanic Scattershot, and from field it stops, well... anything.... especially with something like DNA. Btw, if it was just from the field, would it stop self-Tributing effects from resolving in the GY? or would it be like the interaction between Stardust and Skill Drain? Anyways, on the other hand, I'm glad this card can search out Rainbow Life. It makes some potential decks a little more possible.
Darj
If it was just from the field, then yes, monsters that Tribute themselves or otherwise get themselves out of the Field to activate their effects wouldn't have their effects negated.Yes, I agree it's too overwhelming against FIREs and it could very well be a "pass your turn" vs. them, but... admittedly also that was the idea as a hard counter vs. FIREs and hence why I was testing the waters. I will think on more fair alternatives. To be fair, even hard counters like System Down aren't as oppressive, and this has more coverage by affecting an Attribute compared to a Type. I think locking only effects from FIREs that are in the GY or banished should suffice.

Just a friendly remember that necro period for CC is 14 days instead of 30 like the rest of the area. But otherwise, review is fine. I'll leave this open instead of locking since TC already posted in it (and didn't notice the necro), though both of you, please remember for the future. ==== Then again, if I recall, FIRE decks aren't exactly prominent at this time competitively (sans maybe Infernoids and all, and they don't really inflict burn damage iirc). At the present time, yeah, it's biased towards one Attribute which doesn't have too much. If this were 2015, we did have Fire Fists and stuff, so...would've hurt stuff a lot more if made then. I'd agree that stopping them in the GY or banished area would be fair enough (as opposed to hitting them everywhere else too); still screws over Infernoids, Shiranui (uh, are they still played nowadays?) and some other stuff, but not outright neutering them. Searching thing for anti-burn cards is fine for what it's worth now, though from a competitive standpoint, how often one would actually need to play burn reversal (or LP gain) cards? Trickstar exists, yes, but no one really teched anything against their burn effects from what I've seen. (Slightly tangential, but yeah, example of why you would probably use this card's effect to search anti-burn).
Darj
The Shiranui that can search Unizombie is still commonly played, actually. I have also seen Spiritmaster every now and then in banish-happy decks. As mentioned in the opening thread, a notable target for the search effect is Damage Juggler. As for other anti-burns... casuals may have an interest on it, and could become relevant with future releases. Prime Material Dragon isn't that bad of a card, although the protection it grants has been powercrept, and an issue is putting it on the board. Darj
Updated the effect. Now you get to choose to either negate FIREs on the field, or in the GY or banished.
