HERO's Audacity

Spell Card

Special Summon 1 "HERO" monster from your Deck, then, take damage equal to the summoned monsters combined original ATK and DEF. During the turn you activated this card, you cannot summon monsters except "HERO" monsters. You can only activate "HERO's Audacity" once per turn.

 

So HERO's Audacity acts as a reworked A HERO Lives where this card at any time (as its not limited to while you control no monsters) can summon any HERO from your deck but at the cost of you taking damage equal to its ATK and DEF combined. In addition this also locks you into HERO monsters as well as being a hard OPT card.

 

In HERO Decks this card can be effective while summoning cards like Stratos, Vyon and Shadow Mist where your only taking 2100 ~ 2500 points of damage to summon them and play off their effects while this locking you into HERO's prevents you from making overly ridiculous plays with cards outside of its Archetype.

Balenced effect that would suit all the Hero Archetypes! It could also be a great combo starter at a balanced cost (bring out stratos for 1800 draw into another elemental hero and you are plus one with a normal summon at your disposal.)

an additional copy of "A Hero's Lives" but the damage is not just a flat rate, the bigger the monster the more damage you take (E Hero Neos 2500atk/2000def) = 4500 yikes! vs (E Hero Shadow Mist 1000atk/1500def) = 2500 damage which is less than 4000. In general people start the game off with doing a hero lives off the bat. (starting life total 8000/2=4000damage) vs this card which card get you something for "cheaper".

 

Starting the game off with a hero lives then also activating this 8000/2=4000 then (-2500)=1500 but you got 2 SS E Hero from your Deck.

 

8000-2500=5500 then (x 1/2 = 2750)

So... koomy hits A Hero Lives to reduce HEROes consistency, and your idea is to bring that consistency back? Really?

To be fair, this won't let you follow up with Isolde or Naturia Beast (Solid + Attack Gainer), and unlike Hero Lives this card is dead when you can't pay the LP, but still, I don't think attempting to give back the consistency that koomy took away is a good idea.
